Gite "Syrah" is built in authentic style and completely renovated into a comfortable holiday home for 4 people.

The gite is about 65 m² and everything is on one level.
Through the patio doors you enter the gite into the living room with sitting area with sofa and comfortable chairs, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. (There is a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher)

In the side room you will find the bedroom with a double bed, with ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom, this bedroom has two 1-person beds.

A spacious garden all around with garden furniture, terrace with dining table and chairs, both in front and behind the house. There is also a large swimming pool available.

The gites are very rural in the middle of nature, forests and meadows. Roses color and smell along the old walls, there are several fruit trees that you can harvest from when the time comes. Eat outside on the terrace or lawn, light the barbecue or enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine and cheese. The song of the many birds or the owls in the evening and night form your "background music".

A cooling splash in the pool is possible at any time of the day. There are sunbeds in the garden and by the pool to enjoy the sun.

We are Remco & Gerralda Gilles, we would like to welcome you to our place in France. In the summer months we live in France and you can come and enjoy a stay with us in a typical French Gite on our estate in St Saud Lacoussiere, Vieille Abbaye. It is part of the Périgord-Limousine Natural Park and is located in the middle of rolling hills in the Dordogne surrounded by forests, green meadows, sunflower fields, vineyards, lakes and meandering rivers. Peace and quiet!

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

We like simple, clear prices. The use of gas, water, electricity and wifi is already included. Bed linen and linen are also included, as well as final cleaning.

In principle, the gites are rented per week.
If available in low season, it is also possible to book per night. Please contact us via the contact form.

Check in from 16:00 / Check out no later than 10:00 unless otherwise agreed.

We do not ask for a deposit but trust that you will treat everything that is offered to you in the gite and surroundings with respect and care. In case of loss of the key, we charge € 150 for replacement of lock and locks.

Cot and high chair are available on request.
There are also seven bicycles with 21 gears freely available.

Hopefully it will not be necessary, but if you have to cancel the reservation you have made, the following conditions apply:
The following amounts will be charged depending on the date of written cancellation by the renter:

In case of cancellation up to 90 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: free of charge
In case of cancellation from 90 days (inclusive) to 42 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 30% of the rental price
In case of cancellation from 42 days (inclusive) to 28 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
In case of cancellation from 28 days (inclusive) to 14 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 75% of the rental price
In case of cancellation from 14 days (inclusive) before the start of the rental period up to and including the day of arrival: 100% of the rental price

The Dordogne is characterized by rolling hills, green meadows, beautiful sunflower fields, vineyards in abundance and varied extensive forest areas.
Various streams and rivers meander through the landscape. Small and large lakes are scattered in the landscape.
The summer climate is exquisite, sunny and warm. The people are very friendly

Medieval villages and towns invite you to visit. Centuries-old houses, churches, castles and monumental buildings take you back in time.
Among other things, Brantome, also known as the Venice of the Dordogne, is worth a visit. Or Perigueux, a Gallo-Romanesque city with its cozy narrow streets in the center and historic buildings.
Sarlat, center of the Périgord, the entire city center is a monument in itself.
Bergerac is a centre of wine culture, with over 12 appellations.

Step back in time and visit one of the many caves with stalactite formations, cave houses, murals, etc. For example, Grottes de Villars, Grotte de Rouffignac, La Roque St Christophe. Castles built on rocks, in prominent places in the landscape, against a mountainside or in a cave... Discover the life of the former lords, knights and damsels.

The nature of the Dordogne, Perigord, invites you to get out and about.
Cycling (we have 5 bikes with 21 gears available!), mountain biking on well-marked routes, walking through the endless forests. In many places along the rivers you can rent canoes, a large natural lake is near the gites, fun on and in the water.
Go-karting, quad biking, golf and horseback riding are also possible in the immediate vicinity
Around us are many vineyards and wineries where you can taste and buy wine "à la proprité".

Weekly markets, including those of Piegut and Thiviers, are very famous. You can also visit antique markets and flea markets.

This part of the Dordogne, Perigord limousine, is famous for its Limousine beef.
Let it be prepared in the local restaurants. Foie gras, truffles, chestnuts, nuts, Périgord cheese and duck breast... it's all on the map.
With the wide selection of wine, culinary enjoyment is complete here.
Accessibility:
From the middle of the Netherlands it is about 1000km to our gites in the Dordogne, By plane; with Easyjet you can fly from Amsterdam or Brussels to Bordeaux. With Transavia, you can fly to Perigueux and Bergerac at certain times of the year.
By train ; You can also take the train to France. The Thalys goes from Amsterdam and Brussels to Paris and then you have to change to the TGV line from Paris to Bordeaux.
