In the middle of the apple orchards, where the departments of 'Dordogne and Corrèze' intersect and 'mass tourism' has not yet struck, stands this old French house from 1920, holiday home Pomm' Pidou.

At the end of June 2022 we completed the renovation and transformed this house into an attractive holiday home and in April 2023 the house was expanded with a veranda with hot tub!

Located on 'les quatre routes', it is the ideal base for trips in the vicinity and in both departments.

Visit the many vide greniers and the atmospheric local festivals (marché des producteurs) in high season.
Visit the most imposing castles, stroll through the medieval villages and soak up French culture.

We are the Dutch management couple of holiday home Pomm' Pidou.

In 2016 we followed our French dream and bought our first holiday home.
We have lived here permanently since 2021 and we are currently busy renovating our new house, an old farm.

We hope to make you just as enthusiastic about this beautiful, peaceful region, where you can still experience the real authentic French life.

A 12-minute drive from Pomm' Pidou. This authentic village lies at the foot of the ruins of a 12th century castle. The village is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France. TIP: On Mondays in high season, the marché des producteurs takes place here, where you can buy delicious regional products, use the BBQ and enjoy your snacks and drinks at the long tables while there is live music.

Arnac Pompadour is an 8-minute drive away. Pompadour has been identified as the city of the horses of the Corrèze. It is the birthplace of the Anglo Arabian race and is famous for its racecourse. On the other side of the racecourse is the castle of Pompadour where you can look inside the castle and walk through the castle garden. There are several restaurants such as Remparts with a teeras overlooking the castle.

At a 50 minute drive from Pomm' Pidou you will find Collonges-la-rouge. This village is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Almost all buildings are made of red sandstone. Here you can stroll along nice (craft) shops, take beautiful pictures and enjoy a snack/drink on the various terraces.

It is a little further drive, ie 1.10 from Pomm'Pidou, but definitely worth a visit if you like history. Oradour sur Glane was a village that was massacred by the Germans on June 10, 1944. The special thing about this village is that the village has been kept in its original state. Largely destroyed. A visit to this impressive location shows a chilling picture of the inhumane drama that took place here

At a 20 minute drive from Pomm' Pidou you will find a large lake with a beach. In high season you can rent paddle boarding and pedal boats here. There are picnic tables and there is a restaurant (note: you can only pay in cash here)

The Sunday market in Objat is an age-old tradition! At this market you will find delicious French regional products and specialties. Traditional dances are shown on the main square. Enjoy the atmospheres, colors and scents of yesteryear.

At a 30 minute drive from Pomm' Pidou you will find the pleasant, lively town of Saint Yriex la Perche, which has retained its medieval character.

A beautiful contemporary flower park of almost 5 hectares, comprising 6 themed gardens inspired by the French regions that influenced the life and work of the writer Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette. A gigantic 5000m2 maze with many riddles, Claudine's schoolyard as an invitation not to go to school or the XXL games to play with the family are the end of a visit to a magical location.
