In the middle of the forests of the Perigord Noir, 10 km from the famous medieval town of Sarlat, our holiday home Les Girolles is located on a hill at the end of a forest road. A wonderfully quiet place with no traffic, overlooking the Dordogne river, which makes its way down the valley past the picturesque villages such as Domme, La Roque Gageac and Beynac.
From les Girolles you can walk along a forest path to the river (about 1.5 km) and you can reach various beautiful beaches within 5 minutes by car. The house is 2 km away from the village of Groléjac, where you will find a bakery, butcher, supermarket and various restaurants. Grolejac also has a lake with a beautiful sandy beach. In picturesque Sarlat (also accessible via a bike path, which used to be the railway to Sarlat) you will find shops, restaurants, lively markets and in the summer also street festivals.
Within a radius of 15 km you will find many places of interest: beautiful towns, caves, castles and gardens. Within an hour you are in Rocamadour, Cahors and so on.
From the house you can make beautiful walks and bike rides, and of course canoe trips on the Dordogne river. The swimming pool is 6 by 12 meters and there are sun beds. On the grounds there are a table tennis table and a large trampoline. Interior On the upper floor is a spacious living room with dining area, kitchen (including dishwasher), TV with satellite receiver (all Dutch channels can be received), video recorder and BlueRay DVD player ( for which we have various BlueRays and DVDs), a shower with sink and toilet.
