In Fleurac, in the Périgord Noir, this stone house is one of those where nothing has been left to chance: each window has been placed to frame a particular view of the countryside. The Open Window owes its name to the humanist Leon Battista Alberti who, during the Renaissance, defined the painting as an "open window" to the world: here, it is each window that becomes a painting. Ancient frameworks and beams, stone walls, paved floors, a large fireplace, libraries and works of art make up an interior that is both refined and warm.
On the ground floor, the open kitchen extends into a dining room and a lounge area around the fireplace. A second living room with dining room, bordered by bookcases, opens onto the outside through large French windows. There is also a separate toilet.
The first floor is divided into two parts.
On the kitchen side: a double bedroom, a mezzanine bathroom (bath and sink) and separate toilets.
Living room: two double bedrooms, a bathroom (shower and sink) and a separate toilet.
The three bedrooms, under beautiful exposed frameworks, are air-conditioned.
Outside, a large garden, a paved courtyard and terraces at the back and on the courtyard side. The long salt water swimming pool, with electric cover, is surrounded by a landscaped area (outdoor lounges, sunbeds, parasols) and a stone pool house which houses a well-equipped summer kitchen, with views of the countryside.
Fleurac is a village set on a hill. 450 m from the house stands the Château de Fleurac, an imposing 15th century residence with Renaissance architecture, private property that can be seen from the road. Les Eyzies and the great prehistoric sites of the Vézère valley are 10 km away, Lascaux IV – International Centre of Parietal Art (Montignac) 20 km away, and Sarlat 32 km away.
Linen is included in the rental: 3 towels per person (2 towels and a pool towel) as well as bed linen (sheets, pillowcases, duvet cover).
