Lortal is an old farmhouse, about eight kilometers from the medieval city of Belvès located in the hamlet of Doissat. Sarlat, Lascaux and Bergerac are also within easy reach. For the Dutchmen Renée and André van Soest, this is home.
In a quiet, shady corner of the property is Petite Lortal, a recently renovated and completely detached holiday home for two adults. Those who plan to discover the culinary and other pleasures of the Périgord on foot, on horseback, by bike, by canoe or by car will find the ideal base. Those who like to take up the fishing rod or golf club will also get their money's worth here.
In addition to a pleasant private garden, the compact cottage has everything you need: a modern kitchen and bathroom, a well-equipped living room and a bedroom with a large double bed. The garden is slightly sloping and is therefore less accessible for people with reduced mobility. There is also (electric) heating for the chilly days in spring and autumn. During your stay, the owners are discreetly present on the "farm" to show you the way in the neighborhood and to provide all the support to make your holiday unforgettable. Since Petite Lortal is the only holiday home on site, you don't have to share their attention with others. Although the French legislation on this matter can sometimes seem strange and unreasonable, Renée and André will also be happy to discuss with you how you can use their private pool.
For transport in the Périgord you have to rely on a car. From the Netherlands, there are 3 to 4 flights a week with Transavia from Rotterdam to Bergerac, including Saturdays. At Bergerac airport you can rent a car.
The beautiful cities of Belvès, Sarlat and Bergerac are nearby, as are the caves of Lascaux. Visit the wine chateaux or the beautiful castles. Beautiful walks, canoeing, horseback riding and golf, it's all possible. Active visitors to the Périgord usually return year-in, year-out. As far as we are concerned, this is proof of the magical attraction of this wonderfully quiet part of France.
