Our holiday home is located in a small-scale bungalow park on the border of the Dordogne and the Correze. The 27 houses are located directly on the Lac du Causse, with a play area in the middle with a slide for the little ones and a table tennis table for the older children. This summer, the Swiss Olympic rowing team will train on our lake from 9 to 30 July 2024.
The house is fully equipped and, above all, cozy and cozy and suitable for a maximum of 5 people. The living room consists of a sitting and dining area and an open kitchen. In the kitchen you will find a dishwasher, microwave, oven, induction hob, kettle and Nespresso machine. There is a smart TV, with which you can watch TV with your own data. There is air conditioning on the ground floor that cools in the summer and heats in the winter. The washing machine can be found in the separate storage room next to the house. This region is known for its medieval villages. There are many castles, some in ruins, others very well preserved. Castelnaud Castle, which now houses a museum of medieval warfare, is especially worth a visit. Rocamadour, with its spectacular bird of prey show, is also a fun day out with children. In addition, there are many caves in the area; the best known of these is Lascaux with its prehistoric cave paintings. Gouffre de Padirac, where you can sail on an underground river, is also recommended. For a more active outing, go to one of the climbing parks in the area or go canoeing on the Dordogne river. Your children will also love the Quercyland water park in Souillac. The nearest town is Brive-la-Gaillarde. Here you can enjoy shopping, but the catering industry is also well represented. There is a market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. In the other direction you will find the village of Terrasson, with a beautiful picturesque center. Here is the market on Thursday. On Sunday mornings there is a nice market in Objat. The last market that should not go unmentioned is on Wednesday evening in Chartrièr-Ferriere. In July and August you can buy your dinner at the various market stalls and then prepare it directly on the barbecues available, after which you can sit at one of the tables on the square. You only need to provide your own plates and cutlery.
