Area
Whether you are a lover of nature, culture, history, gastronomy or sports trips, you can find it in this beautiful area.

Some recommendations: Visit a medieval city such as Sarlat with its lively market or the pilgrimage site of Rocamadour or Domme or Les Collonges-La-Rouge. Go to one of the many beautiful castles in eg Beynac and Castlenaud. Or visit Chateau des Milandes where Josephine Baker lived. Here you can also see a great bird of prey show. Discover the largest geological cave in the area "Gouffre de Padirac" where you can take a boat trip on the underground river. Also a must: Gouffre de Proumeyssac or the Lascaux Caves with beautiful rock paintings. A visit to La Roque St.Christophe, a Unesco world heritage site, should not be missed. This is a 1 km long cavern with 5 large galleries. Here you get a good impression of the life of the cave dwellers. Take a trip with the steam train from Martel or sail along with a "gabarre" over the river Dordogne. Rent bicycles and follow the green path along sunflower fields, idyllic villages, and nut orchards and through old train tunnels. Or rent a canoe so that you can explore the area from the water. Also horse riding and golfing is perfectly possible in the area: Vitrac and Souillac. Would you like to have lunch and buy some nice wines, visit one of the many vineyards in the area including: Chateau de Haut-Serre. In the season there are also many festivals and night markets where you can enjoy French cuisine. Garden lovers should certainly admire the gardens of Marqueyssac. Also fun for children: there is animation in various places (drawing and climbing). Or go to the gardens of Eyrignac: one of the main gardens in France. For children (and adults) there are plenty of fun and educational trips, such as the ecomuseum walnut in Castelnaud, the paper museum in Brantome, the wool spinning in Belves, a goat farm in Rocamadour, the historic theme park Bournat, the acquarium le Bugue and the largest climbing park of the Dordogne at Sarlat. There are also several prehisto parks (in Tursac and Lacave) where children can see huge dinos or make amulet workshops or follow archery and see how they used to make fire. In the area there are also various water parks and zoos.

In 2008 we came here for the first time on holiday and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the wonderful weather. We found it an idyllic place: not so massive, but with all facilities to have a nice holiday. That is why we bought the house that we rented for a year later. We have refurbished it, tastefully decorated and equipped with the necessary luxury. With great pleasure we come back here every year, and with us 40% of our guests! We would also like to welcome you.
