Gite St Pierre is located in the centre of the famous tourist site of Brantome in Perigord, in a small old street, very close to the river. Brantome is a charming village town with lots of activities in season but it is also very interesting and relaxing in quieter periods.
The house, its terrace and garden, overlooking the city, are places of rest and relaxation. Brantome offers you its charms - its sights, market, streets, gardens, restaurants, cafes and bars and everything is nearby. The whole of the Dordogne and the neighbouring departments are at your disposal.
The house is leaning against the cliff behind Brantôme. Upon entering the Gite you will find a bedroom on the ground floor with two beds, (which can also form a large double bed) and its bathroom, with washing machine and dryer. From this room you go up the stairs (a bit steep) and you find the main part of the house - fitted kitchen, living room, shower room and master bedroom. From the living room there is access to the terrace, with the BBQ, table and garden seats and parasol. From here you access the garden above the house (by another set of steps a little steep), an ideal resting place with a view of the rooftops of Brantôme.
Please note: the house is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or who cannot climb stairs.
Old houses in Brantôme, near the centre and with private gardens of a good size, are very rare. The house has been modernised by the previous owner for his personal use. A professional in the building trade, the house was very well made, with great taste and good equipment. It is really close to restaurants, cafes, bars and shops - we really like this house and are proud to have been able to buy it. We like to spend a few weekends in the house ourselves!
The Gite is classified 3* by the Departmental Tourist Office, the maximum possible without having a private parking (this for 2 people because, for the Office, the beds on the ground floor count as extra beds).
The alley, being very narrow, does not allow parking immediately in front of the house. Nevertheless, you can stop in front of the house to load and unload your belongings. There are free parking spaces nearby: at the beginning of the street, in front of the hotel Les Jardins des Chouchouux (a good address), and around the shops in front of the hotel (for short periods). There are still places behind the shops, in front of an old disused hangar (which is destined to become the new Aldi in Brantôme).
In cases where you wish to stay beyond 10 days, we will offer you a change of bed linen and towels, as well as a small cleaning, for a small additional cost. We will ask you if you would like this service at the time of booking confirmation.
Please note that we can only accommodate bicycles by prior agreement and not at all if the downstairs room is supposed to be inhabited.
