Village Le Chat 155 is located in the cozy Village Le Chat - a holiday park in the Charente.
We bought this holiday home in October 2022. The previous owners thoroughly renovated and refurbished it in the period 2018-2022. New window frames with double glazing have been installed everywhere, the electricity has been modernized, the entire house has been repainted and the garden has undergone a metamorphosis.
We used the winter season 2022-2023 to put the finishing touches on the project. An excellent internet connection via fiber optic has been installed. There is a new floor in the living room and the kitchen has been completely replaced, including an induction hob. There is a new sofa in the living room and the dining table and chairs have also been replaced. We renovated the stairs to the first floor. We have placed a new (bunk) bed in the bedroom at the front and we have painted several walls a color.
The two-storey holiday home is built on a slope. From above you reach the front door from the quiet road through the park (drive at walking pace) via a concrete staircase. You then enter on the 1st floor. From below on the lake side you can walk up through the garden to the French doors in the living room (ground floor). There is a parking space directly in front of the house. There are no public charging facilities for electric cars at the park, but in Montbron there is one at the supermarket (Intermarché), a 10-minute drive from Village Le Chat.
The living room has a cozy sitting area with a spacious corner sofa. There is a TV on which you can watch Dutch channels via satellite (Canal Digital) or turn on your favorite Netflix series. There is also a Sonos speaker to which you can connect via Bluetooth and listen to your own playlist via Spotify, for example. The open kitchen has a dining table with 6 chairs and you will also find a dishwasher, oven, induction hob, a Nespresso coffee maker, toaster, kettle, washing machine, refrigerator and a separate (small) freezer. There is plenty of crockery and glassware available.
Directly adjacent to the house is a nice terrace with a large garden table. There is an electric awning that you can use if you like to have shade in that spot. A second terrace has been constructed slightly down towards the lake. Here you have a beautiful view over the (swimming) lake. There are both regular chairs and sunbeds available to enjoy this place.
The garden is beautifully landscaped with various flowering plants. A few medium-sized trees in the garden provide wonderful natural shade on hot days.
Via an open staircase (or through the front door) you reach the 1st floor, with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.
The bedroom at the front of the house has a bunk bed and a single bed. All with good, comfortable mattresses in size 90x200cm. Pillows and 3 single duvets are provided. There is a fold-out desk in this room, so you can turn it into a workplace.
The bedroom at the back of the house has a double box spring with a good and comfortable mattress of 180x200cm. Pillows and a double duvet are provided. There is also room to store clothing and other items in an open cupboard. Through the French doors you reach the balcony with a beautiful view of the garden and the lake.
In the compact but nice and modern bathroom you will find a shower, washbasin and toilet.
Further rental information:
You are welcome to bring your dog, we charge a small surcharge of 25 euros per dog per period of stay. We like it if you want to let him or her lie in his or her own basket / on his or her own blanket on the floor and not on the couches or beds.
There is (free) fiber optic internet available. Login details can be found in the home.
Duvets and pillows are provided. You are requested to bring your own sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases, as well as kitchen linen and (bath) towels. If this is difficult, please let us know. We will then see what we can arrange for you through our manager.
We always leave an initial supply of toilet paper, soap and dishwasher tablets, detergent, tea bags and coffee cups behind so that there is at least something available when we or the tenants arrive. It's nice if you also want to leave something behind for those who come after you or replenish it when it is used up.
Kind regards, Geert Jan and Caroline.
