La Côte Plage is located near Istres, in the heart of Provence. This charming domain, located directly on the north coast of the étang de Berre, is open all year round. The étang de Berre is the largest salty lake in Europe, also often called "the sea of Berre". Via the canal at Martigues, you will reach the Mediterranean Sea.  The distance to Istres is only 3 km. It is a cozy small town with many shops and also many nice restaurants. And don't forget Tuesday morning, when there is a market throughout the center, an ideal time to walk around and drink a nice cup of coffee on a beautiful terrace in the sun.  Children will not be bored, they can swim in the lake or in the pool. Trampoline, ping-pong table, basketball, jeu de boules balls and various board games are at their disposal. Remember to bring your surfboards and your boats - without any supplement - to take full advantage of this huge inland sea. Even if there is no mistral, there is a sea breeze on the lake every afternoon. For golf enthusiasts, there are several golf clubs nearby. The nearest sandy beach is at Istres, 3 km away. The beaches by the sea, at Fos sur Mer and Martigues are about 12 km away. The two train stations SNCF Miramas and Istres are about 5 km away. More lines go via Miramas station. Marseille-Provence airport is only 35 km away. Unfortunately, there is no bus from there to Istres or Miramas. However, you can easily rent a car there for the duration of your stay. Let's not forget that due to the geographical location of la Côte Plage, all the riches of Provence are nearby. "Les Alpilles" with "les Baux de Provence", "Fontvieille" and "Saint Rémy de Provence" and also "la Côte Bleue" are only a 20-minute drive away. In less than an hour's drive you are in "la Camargue" and "le Luberon". Even the cities of "Arles", "Aix en Provence", "Marseille" and "Avignon" are close by (between 40 and 60 min. drive).
