Beautiful 2 to 6 person gite Les lits de Montbel, 50km from Carcassonne, at the foot of the Pyrenees. On an idyllic traffic-free village square. Quietly located, yet 3km from Chalabre, where there are basic facilities. A large supermarket 15 min drive along a beautiful road overlooking the Pyrenees.
The beautiful swimming lake Lac de Montbel is a 10-minute drive away.
Beautiful walks directly from the gîte, up the hill for a view of the Pyrenees, or along the apple orchards of the village and along the river l'Hers that flows past the village. In warm weather you can paddle here and there is a small beach.
The voie verte, a car-free cycle route on an old railway bed, runs along the village and is highly recommended. Bike rental possible.
For motorcyclists, this is really a beautiful region for motorcycle tours.
Don't forget to visit Mirepoix and the Cathar castles nearby, we are on the border of L'Aude and Ariège.
In winter, the ski resorts of Les Monts-d'Olmes and Ax-les-Thermes are not far away.
The spaces are spread over 3 floors with a fully equipped kitchen downstairs. Then a bedroom for 2 people and toilet with sink. On the 1st floor the living room with terrace and above it 2 bedrooms. There is a courtyard, terrace at the front and terrace at the back, enough choice for sitting or eating outside, with a choice between sun or shade.
We also have a spacious garage where your bicycles or motorcycles can be safely stored.
From mid-June 2025 we will have a relaxation attic in the B&B next to the gîte with billiards, darts, books and board games that you can use on request
