Pondok Pusaka

Our apartment is located in such a way that the bedrooms are cool in the evening and you can sleep well. We have 2 bedrooms. There is a double bed in each room. In one of the rooms the double bed can be converted into two single beds. There is also a washbasin in this room. The terrace is on the water, you are not allowed to swim on that side, but you can swim 30 meters to the right at the cove where boats are.

Within walking distance is the children's beach (Plage du Grazel) where there is also shallow water but where you can swim and sunbathe very well. By bike or by car you are after 1.5 kilometers on the beach on the Mediterranean Sea (Plage de Mateille). The car can be parked there on the beach itself. We have 4 beach chairs in the house and a parasol that you can take with you. What do you want to do ?New mailCopy

We are André and Froukje. My (Froukjes) father bought this house in 1978. It was just built then. We have inherited it. We have called it Pondok Pusaka (Indonesian for inherited house). We are happy to come. In May and June it is still quiet with regard to the number of tourists and with nice weather. In the summer it is sometimes very hot. In September the days are shorter but the weather is warm and calm. There are days with a lot of wind, but sheltered on the terrace gives no problems.

There is a good tourist office in the village. Here you can go with all your questions, also for the agenda with the festivities and events in that period. Also check the Tourism Gruissan site. If you are looking for our apartment on Google Maps, take Rue du Compas as the address. That street is next to our apartment complex. The place Gruissan consists of four parts: 1. The old village with nice terraces, markets, church, Tour Barbarousse (ruin on a hill, you can climb it and then enjoy a nice view), salt extraction, wine chateau 2. The new village has also terraces, restaurants, shops, 2 large supermarkets (Intermarche and Lidl), casino, night club, pirate park with ferris wheel, aquadrome with sauna and swimming pools, children's beach, market. 3. Gruissan Les Chalets is across the street with lots of beach, surfing opportunities, practice boarding for surfing, further water sports, houses on stilts; at the auction you can buy fresh mussels, oysters and fish. 4.
