It is most beautiful in the spring, of course. Nature is bursting at the seams from mid-March. The diversity of plants is enormous. And, it is often nice and warm. Even in winter we regularly have lunch on the terrace in the sun.
We have lived here since 2015. That is a great gift. We also wish this for other people. To this end, we created a small apartment in our house in mid-2020 with its own entrance and a large covered terrace, for nice outdoor living. This gîte, as it is called in holiday terms, has been brand new and artistically decorated. Heated with a wood stove but otherwise equipped with everything, including a great oven for cooking enthusiasts. The gîte also has a bedroom with a double bed, a loft with a large Velux window to admire the starry sky at night. You can sleep comfortably there for two people. The gîte has a private covered terrace.
Our house is located on the edge of a hamlet at 600 meters, in the mountains where there is very little radiation. No direct reception. We have installed cable connections throughout the gîte that are connected to our own live box.
If there is something you don't need for cooking or whatever, just ask me. If I borrow it or I'll just give it to you.

Ariege in a nutshell and how to get here
The Ariège is part of the old Cathar country. It is green and beautiful. Beautiful high and low mountains, unspoilt nature, mountain lakes, waterfalls and many caves, canoeing and rafting waters, special historical places, medieval villages, thermal baths, nice markets, tasty cakes and much more. It is more than worth discovering.
Our house, containing the gîte, is located 22 km from the capital of Ariège: Foix. It is located between Foix and St. Girons. Then 120 km below Toulouse and 120 above Andorra. You can fly to Blagnac/Toulouse. Then rent a car. You will need it here, unless you are coming here for a retreat. Then I can pick you up from the train in Foix. Daily flights. From Utrecht it is 1250 km. Can be done in one day. We do this regularly. But, we also have an affordable and nice address in Vierzon, halfway to drive it in two days. You can also enjoy delicious classic French food there.
