Additional information

Enjoy the spectacular view over the Giant Mountains. The treetop path in Janské Lázne in the Giant Mountains is an important addition to the Czech list of unique viewing towers. The route starts underground, about five meters below the surface. In the underground space, visitors are informed about the complex root system of tree species in the Giant Mountains and the animal species that live there. This underground exhibition space is unique, not only for the Czech Republic but also in the rest of the world. The walkway takes visitors up to a height of 24 meters. The walkway is 1.5 km long, making it the longest treetop path in all of Europe. On the path you can learn about the native flora and fauna through information panels. The path is also accessible for wheelchair users.
The observation tower is 45 meters high, making it the highest observation tower in the Czech Republic. From the tower there is an impressive view over the 150-year-old trees of Krkonoše. At the top you can choose to take the same route back or go down on the giant 50 meter slide. Options to reach the trail include a cable car, bus, bicycle, or walking. The trail is open all year round except December 24.
Pec pod Snežkou is also a destination par excellence for mountain bikers. Various routes lead through forests, mountains and along romantic babbling streams. Get on your bike and discover the most beautiful places in the Giant Mountains, enjoy the fresh air while taking in the surroundings. While Pec pod Snežkou is a cross-country skiing and skiing paradise in winter, it turns into a cycling and hiking paradise in summer.
For real evening tourists there is the Monkey Park and a climbing wall in the village. From a tower you will zip-line to the forest and then walk/jump/clamber/crawl from tree to tree. To prevent accidents, you are of course safely secured. Very exciting and challenging for teenagers and older youth.
The relaxation park is located directly at Krakonos residence and also has trampolines, slides and climbing towers with rope bridges
The most beautiful zoo in the Czech Republic can be found in Dvur Králové. This zoo, founded in 1946, is actually very special. Why? The zoo has a completely African theme. Not only are the animals African, the decoration of the park is also in African style and you can even enjoy an African snack. Africa in the heart of Europe! Have you always wanted to go on safari? Okay, it may not be the real Africa, but driving through the Dvur Králové zoo is still a special experience. You can do this with the safari bus or with your own car. After driving through all the African wildlife, your safari continues on foot. Along the way you will come across playgrounds, where kids can climb and clamber just like the orangutans.

Snežka, the queen of the Czech mountains. A 1602 meter high mountain that towers above all other mountains in the Czech Republic and looks down on the beautiful Czech landscape. This mountain is visited by a lot of tourists, because they also want to enjoy such a beautiful view. And you will certainly enjoy it when you stand on top of this mighty mountain. The climb there is quite a job, so put on your best pair of walking shoes and pack a well-filled backpack with sandwiches and bottles of water. Along the way you can view the area from the various observation towers. If you prefer to skip the intensive hike, you can also use the cable car. Step into the cabin and you will be taken to the highest point of the Czech Republic in 15 minutes. This in complete comfort, because the cable car has toilets and the possibility to eat or drink something. Whichever way you go to the top of Snežka, you will be rewarded with an amazing view.
To the east of the Giant Mountains there is a remarkable landscape. A city of huge rocks in special shapes. This rock city is called Adršpach. It is not without reason that this unique place is a tourist attraction, Adršpach is one of the coolest places in the Czech Republic. All kinds of figures can be seen in the enormous sandstone rock formations, here your imagination can be unleashed. A walk through Adršpach is not an ordinary walk, the hike involves occasionally climbing (with steps) and bending over to crawl through the natural passage of the rocks. Deep between the rocks there is a clear blue lake, where you can get into a boat and take a tour. Viewing the rock city from the water is fun and special. What is also very special is climbing those gigantic sandstone rocks, Adršpach is a paradise for climbing enthusiasts. With climbing routes of varying difficulty levels and the option of guidance from trained instructors, both experienced and less experienced climbers can have an unforgettable climbing experience here. From the tops of the rocks you have a fantastic view of a unique landscape. A visit to Adršpach is also fun to do with kids, walking among the towering rocks, they will feel like real gnomes.
The Giant Mountains are one of the most popular mountains in the Czech Republic among hiking tourists. There are many height differences in the Giant Mountains, which make it a challenge for the hiker to 'conquer' the mountain range. Don't worry, the Giant Mountains offer hiking tours for both experienced and less experienced hikers. You can adapt the kilometers of marked walking routes that you find here to your own experience. If you are unexpectedly surprised by severe weather, you can always take shelter in one of the many romantic mountain huts along the way. In this blog you can read about the five most beautiful hikes in the Giant Mountains. https://www.tsjechoreizen.nl/blog/De-5-mooiste-wandelingen-van-het-reuzengebergte
