Casa Bonita is located in the popular residential area of Bottelier, centrally located between Willemstad, Jan Thiel and Mambo Beach. Due to the higher altitude, there is often a wonderful cooling trade wind. From the house and the porches you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view towards Jan Thiel, the Caribbean Sea and the Tafelberg. On a clear day, you can even see the contours of Venezuela in the distance.
What makes Casa Bonita so special for us is the real Curaçao outdoor life. The house has two porches, each with its own atmosphere. Start the day outside with a cup of coffee, find the shade and the wind in the afternoon and light the barbecue in the evening. With a drink, the warm evening air and the lights in the distance, it is wonderful to come home here.
From Casa Bonita, Curaçao is at your feet
One of the big pluses is the central location. About a five-minute walk away are the salt pans of Jan Thiel, a beautiful nature reserve where you can enjoy hiking or mountain biking and encounter flamingos.
Within about a 10-minute drive you can reach Jan Thiel Beach, Caracas Bay and the Spanish Water. Swimming, snorkeling, diving, sailing or just sitting by the water: it's all possible. Mambo Beach and the Curaçao Sea Aquarium are also quickly accessible. For snorkelers and divers, Tugboat Beach and Directors Bay are great places to discover.
Willemstad is also about a 10-minute drive away. Stroll through Punda and Otrobanda, cross the famous Pontoon Bridge , admire the colorful Handelskade or discover the cozy streets of Pietermaai. It is wonderful to spend an afternoon strolling around, shopping or watching the ships sail through the Sint Anna Bay from a terrace.
Be sure to head west for a day. Visit the rugged Shete Boka, climb the Christoffel Mountain or take a beach tour along Daaibooi, Cas Abao, Playa Porto Mari, Grote Knip and Playa Lagun. At Playa Piskadó you also have a good chance of swimming among the sea turtles.
Good food is part of Curaçao
Curaçao is also a wonderful island for those who love good food and socializing. From Casa Bonita you have plenty of choice. Around Jan Thiel you can go to Zanzibar, Koko's and Zest, but our favorites are scattered around the island.
For example, go to De Dames for breakfast or lunch, to Brisa do Mar for fresh fish and a relaxed Curaçao atmosphere on the water or to De Gouverneur in Willemstad, with a beautiful view over the Handelskade. For a special night out, Ten is definitely recommended.
If you want to taste the local Curaçao, have lunch at Plasa Bieu in Willemstad. And if you are heading towards Westpunt, Jaanchie's is a nice place to get acquainted with the local cuisine.
Wonderful coming home to Casa Bonita
Casa Bonita can accommodate up to four people and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Wonderfully spacious for two people and also ideal for two couples or a family.
Inside you will find a spacious, fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room with sitting area and flat screen TV. There is wifi and air conditioning, you can use the washing machine for free and you can park your car in your own parking space at the house.
Casa Bonita is not a massive resort, but your own place on Curaçao. You have privacy, space and the wonderful trade wind, while beaches, nature, restaurants, shops and Willemstad are all close by.
Our property manager lives just 10 minutes away and is available when needed. We can also help arrange a rental car and transfer from the airport.
