Our apartment is part of the luxury apartment complex The Reef located on the secure Blue Bay Golf and Beach Resort in section BY60.
The apartment is located on the 1st floor. From your private terrace you have a fantastic view of the sea, the 16th and 17th holes of the golf course and the beautifully landscaped swimming pool with beautiful palm trees.
The apartment has a good location in relation to sun and wind.
On the terrace there is a spacious lounge set and a 6-person dining table with comfortable lounge chairs with 4 season cushions. There are 2 luxurious sunbeds and a ceiling fan for extra cooling, even though there is generally a nice breeze.
The large sliding doors combine indoors and outdoors into one. Our experience shows that you will always have the sliding doors open so that the wind can flow through.
The living room with open kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The two air-conditioned bedrooms have very spacious wardrobes and a private bathroom with walk-in shower, sink and toilet. The master bedroom has a double box spring bed (180x200 cm) with a topper. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds (2x 80x200 cm) with 2 toppers.
The storage room has a washing machine, dryer, ironing board, drying rack and vacuum cleaner.
The apartment has a safe.
The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer, microwave/oven, kettle, toaster and a Nespresso machine.
The living room (also equipped with air conditioning) has a spacious sofa and flat screen television with 100+ TV channels. There is a private high-speed WIFI network (based on fiber optic) and the electricity is 220V with European sockets. The living room has a dining table with 4 chairs, which can also serve as a workplace. An optional TripTrap seat is available for smaller children. A children's (camping) bed can be added optionally.
At the front of the building there is a private parking space for our apartment (no. 28), any guests can park in the visitor parking spaces (B).
Upon arrival, the apartment will be available to you after 3 p.m. You must check out before 11 am upon departure. Late checkouts possible by arrangement.
The beautiful sandy beach of BlueBay is a 10-minute walk from The Reef. Our property manager will provide you with the beach passes that give you free access to the beach.
On the beach you will find 2 excellent restaurants, a cozy beach bar, snack bar, PADI diving school, various water sports (SUP, catamaran and kayak), beach volleyball and a beauty and massage salon. Every Friday during happy hour at beach bar Blend there are various performances by live bands or a DJ.
For restaurants near the beach of BlueBay, you can go to 'Coast' and 'Brass Boer Curacao'.
Blue Bay resort is also known for its beautifully landscaped 18-hole golf course by the sea. As a guest on BlueBay you receive a 20% discount on the green fee. Please inquire at the golf course clubhouse for the conditions. The clubhouse, a beautiful old country house, also houses Restaurant Lemongrass, where non-golfers can also have breakfast, lunch, dinner or a drink on the lovely terrace.
The newly constructed tennis courts are next door, as is the gym where you can take various fitness and yoga classes.
Walking paths run through the entire Blue Bay resort between the beautifully landscaped parks and gardens. In short, everything you need to be active in addition to a luxurious beach holiday.
The resort has 24/7 security.
Blue Bay Resort is centrally located on Curacao, so you can easily visit the rest of the beautiful island with a rental car (recommended), both to the famous beaches with beach clubs on the east side and to the beautiful quieter beaches on the west side. You can also rent rental cars from The Reef CarRental.
The historic and cozy Willemstad, on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is 10 minutes (by car) away.
Within a 5-minute drive you will find 2 large supermarkets as well as the large Sambil Mall, doctor's office, pharmacy and a large modern gym.
The driving time to and from Hato Airport is 10-12 minutes.
Update Feb 2024: Construction of The Reef 2.0 (apartments) has started opposite The Reef (behind the swimming pool area). Depending on the type of work, this can cause noise pollution. From the terrace of our apartment you have a direct view of the construction site.
