Welcome to the information of our beautiful apartment Bon Bista, Papiamento for 'beautiful view'. Our house is located in the hills of the quiet village of Barber, in the western part of Curaçao. This western part of the island is called Bandabou.

The area is characterized by hills, including the Christoffel Mountain with the adjacent Christoffel Park. The most beautiful beaches of the island are located on this half of the island, such as Kas Abou, Daaibooi, Grote and Kleine Knip, Santa Cruz, Playa Lagun and Playa Piskado. Piskado is known for its sea turtles, which you are guaranteed to find here. This quiet, less touristy part of the island is found by nature lovers and divers and snorkelers.

Here you can fully experience the tranquility of Caribbean life, while the cozy center of Willemstad is half an hour's drive from our apartment. A little further and the bustling beaches of Mambobeach and Jan Thiel can also be visited.

We, Joost and Paul, had been coming to Curaçao for vacation for years. During such a holiday, the love for the island arose. Later, the desire to live there grew. This wish was realized in February 2024. In the meantime, there has been a lot of work to be able to receive guests in the apartment. The result is impressive. Joost and Paul would like to share their love for the environment with their guests and thus contribute to an unforgettable holiday.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy. We apply the following cancellation conditions:
  • If cancelled within 24 hours of your booking being approved, you will be entitled to a full refund of the booking amount and security deposit (if applicable). Have you emailed us, but haven't received a response yet? Don't worry, we will take the moment you sent your email to us as the cancellation date.
  • In case of cancellation up to the 42nd day before the start of the stay, the cancellation costs are 30% of the travel sum.
  • In case of cancellation from the 42nd to the 28th day before the start of the stay, the cancellation costs are 60% of the travel sum.
  • In case of cancellation from the 28th day to the first day of stay, the cancellation costs amount to 90% of the travel sum.
  • In case of cancellation on the first day of stay or later, the cancellation costs are 100% of the travel sum.
Please note:
  • The travel sum is the basic rent plus all extra costs (excluding deposit).
  • Only when the landlord has approved the booking request and the 24 hours have expired, the booking is final.
  • The statutory right of withdrawal is excluded with regard to the rental of holiday homes. If a booking (request) has to be cancelled or withdrawn, we would like to hear from you as soon as possible.
  • If you have taken out insurance and had to cancel your reservation for a valid and demonstrable reason for the insurance, you may be entitled to a refund. Please contact your insurance company for this.
  • In case of a rescheduled booking, we use the initial arrival date. If your booking has been moved to a later date and you have to cancel the booking later than the original arrival date, the cancellation fee is 100%.

In the evening the swimming pool is pleasantly lit. You can choose the attractive colors of the illuminated swimming pool to your own taste. The pavilion also has dozens of lights where it is wonderful to stay, especially in the evenings due to the ever-present wind.
The wonderfully shaded sitting area with a view of the swimming pool is located under a palapa that you can illuminate in the evening with dozens of attractive lights. There is always a breeze blowing so you can enjoy the weather.
The cooling swimming pool is 6x 3m with steps on the other side and seating in the water.
View from the cozy covered porch with ceiling fan where you can enjoy breakfast especially in the morning and a ceiling lamp to read or play games in the evening. Very suitable for BBQ in the evening.
There is access to this bathroom through the master bedroom. The bathroom is quite new, has a rain shower with hot water, a toilet and a sink. There is enough space to store your toiletries. Laundry basket available. The window has a built-in insect screen.
Bedroom number three also has a double bed of 1.60x2.00m. This room has direct access to a small bathroom with shower and sink. From the bathroom you reach the side of the house with a cozy sitting area for reading and relaxing.
Bedroom three. A baby cot also fits in this room, which you can place on request for free. The room has a new air conditioner, a ceiling fan, wardrobe and large mirror. The windows have built-in mosquito nets.

With the singing of the birds in the garden, the covered porch is the most wonderful place to have breakfast. From here you enter directly into the modern kitchen where it lacks almost nothing.
The new electric stove with oven and extractor.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. A washing machine, dishwasher, electric stove, oven, extractor hood and large refrigerator make it complete. Coffee machine and Senseo, kettle, blender and even a sandwich maker, nothing is missing!
In the front you will see the cozy sitting area with the second dining table behind it. The space behind is separated with a small fence so that the little ones cannot just scramble to the pool.
A lovely corner has been created here for those who want to withdraw from the possible crowds at the pool. The reed mats in front of the steel fence let the wind blow through so that it is really enjoyable here.

Enjoy the countless known but also unknown exotic fruits that Curacao has to offer.

Completely new are the sinks for the divers where the salt water can be rinsed off. Of course you can also use this when you are not diving, for example to remove salt water from your snorkel mask.

The image of the island on the wall is easy for orientation. This way you can easily discuss where you dived and which part of the island you want to explore tomorrow.

The dining table in the lounge at the side of the house is also covered and the wind can also blow wonderfully here. It is wonderful to spend time here, especially in the afternoon when the sun is on the other side. We have a high chair for your child (free of charge) on request.

Bedroom number 1 (master bedroom) has windows on two sides so that the wind can blow in. The double bed is 1.60 x 2.00m in size. The room has direct access to a private bathroom. You have a ceiling fan as well as a new air conditioning and wardrobe.
The second bedroom also has windows on both sides so that the wind blows in wonderfully. The two single beds of 90x2.00m can be pushed together to form a double bed of 1.80x2.00m. All windows are fitted with mosquito nets.
Bathroom number three with access to the outside. The sliding door gives the room just a little more space so that in addition to sufficient closet and storage space, a baby cot is no problem here either. The outside door is equipped with a mosquito net to keep mosquitoes and unwanted animals out.

Laundry is also done on holiday. The photo shows how wonderfully the laundry hangs to dry. The wax spider is free so that the wind blows around it happily. With the sun shining, your bedding or favorite clothes will be dry again in no time.
