Crikvenica is located in the Kvarner Bay, about 35 kilometers south of Rijeka. It is a series of several smaller tourist villages that together form the Riviera of Crikvenica. Selce, Dramalj, Jadranovo and Crikvenica itself are the most important.
Many tourists stay in Crikvenica during the high season. Parking becomes difficult, but you can always find a space at the paid parking, which is still affordable. Furthermore, there are so many beach places that it never gives the impression of being overcrowded.
From Crikvenica there are various excursions possible by boat to the island of Krk, fishing picnic trips by boat, and boat trips with 'panorama' boats, the boats with glass bottoms where you can admire the underwater nature.
