Vila Feniks is located in Grad Kastela (old Kastela), which is a World Heritage Site. We rebuilt our house in 2015 according to the rules of the Croatian monument conservation and equipped with modern facilities such as WiFi, rain showers and luxurious box springs. On the ground floor there is an independent living unit with a luxurious bathroom, kitchen, double bed and a sofa bed (130x195). The outside stairs take you to the 1st floor, a living floor with bathroom, kitchen, dining table, sitting area and TV. On the 2nd floor a spacious bedroom with a luxurious double box spring of 2.10 long and an extra single bed (folding bed) and a bathroom with sink and toilet. If desired, there is also a camping bed for a baby, as well as a high chair.
The house has a sea view and you can reach the Riva in 12 steps. In Kastel Novi you will not find any high-rise buildings, but you will find characteristic houses, plenty of cozy terraces and good restaurants with a sea view. There are several village beaches along the Riva with small-scale catering and play facilities for children, including a water playground, trampolines and pedal boats. You can get your groceries in the small neighborhood supermarket 200 meters from the house or you can go to the market 400 meters from the house. You will find a bakery every few hundred meters.
Drink your first cappucino of the day on one of the terraces among the locals.
Kastel Novi is located between Trogir and Split, a 5-minute drive from Split Airport. From April to October, KLM, EasyJet and Transavia fly almost daily on a split basis.
The area surrounding Kastel Novi offers plenty of opportunities for excursions. Get on the bus to Trogir (10 minutes), a beautiful medieval town with a beautiful boulevard from where boat excursions depart to Blue Lagoon/island Solta (highly recommended!). In Trogir take the boat to Split with a lovely sun deck or take the bus from Kastel Novi). Split is a beautiful walled Roman city with ferries to the islands of Brac (with the beautiful Zlatni Rat beach in Bol) and Hvar (lavender/island).
And don't forget to explore the 7 Kastelas, walking or cycling along the riva.
If you want to explore the area further afield, rent a car or choose one of the many excursions offered. Think of the Krkra waterfalls, Salona (ruins of an old Roman city), the Cetina River where you can go rafting and perhaps the Kornation Islands. For those with a little more time, the walled fortress city of Dubrovnik, the most beautiful city in Croatia, can be reached in 3 hours by car or by one of the ferries.
