Welcome to the adventurous world of northwest Bosnia! In this corner of Europe you will find an unspoilt environment that is almost unheard of in many other European countries.
The nature house is located in the middle of that. Located directly on the original river Una in the middle of the National Park of the same name.
The house is located on a quieter part of the river, while a few kilometers upstream are the Martin Brod waterfalls and a few kilometers downstream is the famous Strbacki Buk waterfall. You are here in the middle of nature. The house has neighbors on the right, but on the left the next house is only a few hundred meters away. The house is located on 6000 meters of private land between the river and the disused railway line between Zagreb and Split. The house is located on the fishing path between Kulen Vakuf and Martin Brod and can only be reached by boat.
The house is insulated and equipped with new windows and doors. Downstairs (the house is built on a slope) there is a storage room with bicycles, washing machine, dryer and garden furniture (including wooden garden benches and garden table and some white garden chairs). On the ground floor there is the living room with open kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. You go to the top floor via a custom-made wooden staircase.
The top floor has been converted from an attic into an attractive space with beds and a separate room as a bathroom.
There is a wood-burning stove in the living room.
The house is equipped with all basic amenities and has hot water through boilers. The house is connected to the electricity grid. Water comes from the Una River with a pump. Drinking water is available in bottles that you can refill at a spring in the nearby town of Kulen Vakuf. If you want, you can also buy spring water in a store or, as some guests prefer, drink the water from the tap (boiled).
The house is accessible via a country road by bicycle or on foot (more than 3 kilometers to the town of Kulen Vakuf) or by wooden boat. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by the neighbors of the nature house and you will be transferred with your luggage. You will then receive the keys and a paddle to our own wooden Una boat with which you can cross the river yourself. The car can be parked along the road (between Kulen Vakuf and Martin Brod) across the street from the house.
Then you can enjoy paddling to the other side. An adventurous stay guaranteed!
