Chalet Pont du Waud – a nice place in the middle of nature
Cozy and complete holiday home with nice garden and large terrace on the sun.
At the end of one of the most beautiful valleys in the region, hidden between forest and river, lies Chalet Pont du Waud. The holiday home is located in a quiet spot near the river Amblève, surrounded by greenery and the gentle sound of running water. A place where you can really get away from it all and fully enjoy peace, cosiness and nature. In the vicinity of the house it is possible (with a bit of luck) to spot various animals, including beavers, wild boars, badgers, raccoons and deer.
From the house you can walk directly into the forest via various walking routes. After a walk, you can settle down by the wood stove or fire bowl with a good glass of Belgian beer. What more could a person want?
Charming chalet in the Ardennes
Inside you step into a warm and cozy house, with a cozy living room, cozy wood stove and a nice dining area for long evenings together. The kitchen and bathroom are practically furnished and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thanks to the large windows and patio doors, you have a view of the garden and the surrounding greenery everywhere. Squirrels are frequent visitors to the garden and there are also various birds to be seen around the house such as robins, great and blue and with a bit of luck you can also spot a spotted woodpecker or kingfisher.
On sunny days, the terrace forms an extension of the living room. The garden offers plenty of space for children to play and to relax, read or just enjoy the surroundings. In the evening, the fire bowl creates a cozy atmosphere and an ultimate experience of outdoor life.
There's plenty for kids to explore: a playhouse, a swing, slide and, of course, nature itself — streams to search for stones and make dams, look for animals in the forest and endless space to play.
Every season has its charm in the Ardennes. In the autumn, the forest turns into beautiful autumn colours and in the winter there is a lot of snow regularly. Because the forest consists largely of pine trees, the forest also remains beautifully green in winter. In spring and summer you can enjoy the liveliness of the area, the flowers, the sun and hours of fun by the stream. Chalet Pont du Waud is a great base to discover this area — a place to unwind, be together and enjoy nature.
The chalet can accommodate up to 6 people. There is a private parking space and possibly space for parking a second car. In the barn you will find a barbecue and sleds. Inside there are various board games (in the wooden bench in the dining room) and books ready. There is deliberately no television, so you can really enjoy the peace and quiet. However, there is wifi and a DVD player with screen and a small collection of movies.
The Ardennes: And the special culture of the East Cantons!
Just a three-hour drive from the middle of the Netherlands, you step into another world.
A world of rolling hills and rugged mountain landscapes, vast forests where the light dances filtered through the canopy, crystal clear rivers and charming villages where authenticity is still self-evident. Here you will experience the true Ardennes, enhanced by the unique culture of East Belgium. Each season tells its own story here. In spring, the landscape awakens in an explosion of fresh green tones. Summer brings abundant, vibrant nature. In autumn, forests turn gold, red and copper, and mushrooms, acorns and beechnuts lie like treasures on the forest floor. And in winter, the valley often turns into an enchanting, snowy fairyland, where footsteps creak in the snow and the world seems to stand still for a moment.
Long before history was written, this country whispered all its secrets. Celts and Romans followed the rivers Steinbach and Amblève, in search of gold, omens and the unspeakable.
Julius Caesar described the Ardennes as a dark forest full of mist and uncertainty — a place where paths disappear, swamps breathe and silence outweighs sound. Centuries of struggle have left scars, but also given peace. Where once swords sounded and boundaries shifted, there is now a deep, soothing silence. One slow breath is enough to feel how the land embraces you and time softens. Today, the Ardennes is a warm, mystical border region between Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and France — a fusion of languages, cultures and ancient sagas and legends that still wander through the forest.
Chalet Pont du Waud is not a residence.
It is a homecoming in silence.
A journey through nature, time and the invisible.
