Haus Sonnenalp is a quietly located apartment building 300 metres from the gondola lift in Niederau. Apartment Sonnenalp Markbachjoch is therefore an ideal starting point for your holiday. Within walking distance you can reach several restaurants and shops. Of course, the sunny and snow-sure Wildschönau high valley offers much more besides the no less than 109 km of slopes and 26 ski lifts. Cleared hiking trails, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing or enjoying the beautiful white surroundings with the horse-drawn sleigh.
If you are looking for an even larger ski area, the ski areas of Brixen im Thale, Hopfgarten and Westendorp are in the immediate vicinity. All in all, an ideal address for a successful winter sports holiday!

Are you looking for peace and quiet or a challenge in the summer?!
Discover the mountains with a guide or on your own, hikes at high altitudes or cultural trips in the valley: there are no limits to hiking pleasure. 300 km of marked and well-maintained hiking trails lead from the valley to the alpine pastures and peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps, past flowering meadows and shady forests.
Nordic Walking trails, mountain bike trails, canyoning and rafting, paragliding, tennis courts and a swimming pool with 3 pools, slides and a beach volleyball field in the middle of wonderful mountain scenery are just a few of the various sports possibilities in the high valley. With the Gästecard that every guest receives, you can use the gondolas in Niederau and Auffach, the hiking bus, the swimming pool and the tennis courts free of charge in the summer.

And of course enjoy the setting sun in the evening on one of the many terraces in the village or the private balcony.

The reservations go through us and we make sure that everything is prepared for a nice holiday in Niederau upon arrival.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

- This price and this availability is valid for the apartment Sonnenalp Markbachjoch.
- The rates apply to stays from Saturday to Saturday, in certain periods arrivals and departures on Sundays are also possible. For other arrival and departure days; Please contact us by email about the possibilities.
- The price does not include final cleaning, laundry and service costs
- The price does not include tourist tax (Euro 3.50 p/p/p/n from the age of 15) and € 25 reservation costs.

In the middle of the Tyrolean mountain world, not far from Wörgl, the high valley of the Wildschönau stretches for a length of 24 kilometers. This high valley consists of the 4 church villages of Niederau, Oberau, Thierbach and Auffach, of which Niederau is the largest village. The valley lies in the heart of the Zillertal and Kitzbuhel Alps and is known for its good price / quality ratios.

In the sun- and snow-assured Wildschönau, both the advanced and novice skiers can get along well on the 145 km of prepared pistes. The 46 ski lifts open up the entire area from 670 to 2025 meters. Snowboarders can also indulge in the snowboardpark.Er are easy blue runs to try out the first ski techniques. Fanatical and experienced skiers can go on the freeride slopes and the huge deep snow plains. True ski fanatics can make a lovely descent on a floodlit slope in the evening. Wildschönau also offers plenty of cross-country skiing opportunities. The 50 km of connected trails ensure that beautiful trips through the valley can be made. The area offers the hiker 40 km of winter hiking trails with beautiful views of the surroundings. Longest gondola lift in Austria and the longest descent (7 km) from the Kitzbuhel Alps; Other winter sports: including ice skating, tobogganing and horse-sleigh riding.

The mountain landscape is beautiful for four seasons, also in autumn. The Austrians call it Goldener Herbst, because of the beautiful colors. Especially when the sun shines through the colored leaves it looks beautiful. There is also a lot to discover in this period of the year. A (short) holiday is definitely worth it! When autumn begins and the forests in the beautiful Wildschönau colors turn golden red, the time of Almabtriebe and Almfeesten begins, with lots of fun and atmosphere. Deciduous trees color all shades of red, brown, yellow and gold. Lariksen also participate in the golden game; other species remain green. This creates a beautiful, natural color palette.
