For vacationers who, like us, love the beautiful nature in the mountains, the peace and space of Carinthia in Austria, this is an ideal place to spend a holiday in a luxurious and comfortable holiday home.

Enjoy this beautiful village in every season with its many sights, restaurants, nightlife, all kinds of sports and adventure.

Kötschach is only 15 kilometers from the Italian border and has a wonderful climate. Our house is built on a sunny spot next to the slopes.
In winter you can ski home from the slopes!

In our house you will find a lot of documentation about all the attractions in the neighborhood.
You do not have to travel far for this because in the immediate vicinity of Kötschach you can see and experience everything.

For sports enthusiasts there is a range of possibilities. Mountain biking, cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, skiing, snowboarding, abseiling, mountain climbing, rafting, kayaking, canoeing and much more.

At only 3 minutes walk you will find a lovely subtropical swimming pool Aquarena with indoor pool, outdoor pool, jacuzzi, water slide, sauna, solarium, massage.
Enjoying in the summer but also in the winter after a day of skiing!

Please note that the Aquarene is closed for some time in the spring and autumn due to cleaning work!

In Mauthen is a beautiful natural swimming pool. This is open during the summer months in good weather.

We had been looking for a nice place to buy a holiday home in Austria for a while.
When we saw that this house was for sale on this unique project in Kotschach Mauthen, we did not hesitate for a moment.
Due to its favorable location on the south side of the Alps, the weather is almost always wonderfully sunny, ideal in summer and winter.
The house is 50 meters from the ski slopes and 100 meters from the subtropical swimming pool with outdoor pool and sauna. The picturesque center is a 5-minute walk away

In Carinthia were built several routes that are specifically designed for the tourist. eg. The Grossglockner High Alpine Road, one of 48 km route that leads to the top of Grossglockner. (Austria's highest mountain at 3,798 meters). If you are driving towards Lienz find itself the signs marked Grossglockner. The route runs through the Hohe Tauern National Park. see also: www.grossglockner.at This route is open from May / June (depending on snow conditions) Another route is the Villach Alpine Road. This route is a lot shorter and leads to the Dobratsch (2167 meters) and has magnificent views including Villach. see also: www.villacher-alpenstrasse.at This route is open all year. The Nockalmstrasse (right of the A 10, Villach-Salzburg) is a route of 35 km. This route runs for the most part on slightly undulating roads. see also: www.nockalmstrasse.at This route is open from May to late October. The Goldeck Panoramastrasse top left Villach is a short route of 14.5 km with stunning views. see www.goldeck-spittal.at This route is open all year. Extreme weather notwithstanding. The leaflets are all these trails in our chalet. These routes are costs. (See the websites of these routes) The KaertenCard you can get a discount on these costs. (See section on KaertenCard)

In St.Daniel (about 4 miles from our chalet. The first village if you drive towards Hermagor) is Reiterhof Schneider. It has both ponies and horses. Cost of 12-20 euros per hour. From the village (opposite the church) you can fly fishing excursion books.

At the bridge over the Gail (direction Mauthen) you can rent canoes. This is about 15 minutes walk from Casa-Mariti.

Is listed in the Top 10 ski areas in Austria! Nassfeld is located about 25 minutes from our chalet (on flat roads towards Hermagor, is clearly stated below) although there is a free ski bus to the slopes. This departs from the People's Bank in the village. (About 300 meters from our chalet) The summary of departure is in our chalet. Nassfeld is a new ski area with 110 km of pistes with altitudes up to 2,000 meters. There is a descent of 7.6 km. On www.nassfeld.at you can find information about this ski resort. At the track, you will find the ski school, ski rental and free ski storage so you evening and the morning do not have to lug your skis. It's not such a busy ski as you will find that in Tyrol. The huts (26 x) are smaller and therefore more relaxed.

Start within a few hundred meters from our chalet really dozens walks. These are all well marked. Some of these walks we will just briefly describe below. Mauthner Klamm: This walk starts at the natural pool of Mauthen and is almost flat. Oedenhutte: this walk can be made via a paved road or in the woods. Both possibilities are well marked. Opposite the church you go the Schlanke Gasse and eventually you will drive the further evidence against. In Oedenhutte you can drink or eat. This walk takes about 1 hour. (Back) Waterfalls at Weidenburg Via Mauthen Wuermlach you enter Weidenburg. Just before you leave Weidenburg again, you will find on the right the start of this route. These three walks are fairly short. There are also plenty of opportunities for long walks possibly even overnight if you decide to take a hut trip over the mountain ridges. A well-known route is 403, (the Karnischer Hoehenweg) one other route is 229 (the Gailtaler Hoehenweg) Other known walks are the so Geotrails. These are routes with a historical background that explains during the routes through various signs. These are five routes: GeoTrail Wolayersee. GeoTrail Ploeckenpass GeoTrail Zollnersee GeoTrail Nassfeld GeoTrail Garnitzen Klamm.

You have from Casa Mariti overlooking ski Kotschach. 3 minutes from our chalet is the ski slope. This ski is pretty small slope with one chairlift and two surface lifts. For children and novice skiers this slope absolutely appropriate. There is also a ski school on the piste. Ski in the village at Sport 2000, Family Putz (see direction Oberdrauburg on the left). Height of slopes: 750 m) You can reserve your skis etc online via: www.sport2000rent.at (and then typing its name) Via www.wetter.at (then kaerten and Koetschach), you can follow the weather forecasts)

If you buy this card you can in some cases free of attractions and in other cases, you get a discount. The cost of this card are: 1 week: 34,00 euros adults children 6-14 years: 14,00 euro from 3rd child: free 2 weeks: adults 42,00 EUR children 6-14 years: 18,00 euro from 3rd child free, you can get the card at the tourist office at the Town Hall or at the Alpine Camp (right at Rathaus) The card is valid for the period 18 April to / by October 18th. If you buy this card you obviously get a list where you can use this card. It is of course totally depends on what you are planning to do in order to determine whether it is advantageous to purchase such a card.
