Chalet Murmel

Welcome to Chalet Murmel, our great holiday home in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park in Carinthia, close to Heiligenblut and the Grossglockner (3,798m).
The name was invented by our son Bruno when he was 12 years old. Murmels are cute mountain marmots so that's what the house had to be called. 

Via a good provincial road B107 you can easily reach the village of Untersagritz where our house is located on a dead end street with an unobstructed view to both the north and the south. A beautiful location all year round and always easy to reach without the hassle of snow chains.

You can park up to 3 cars under the illuminated carport and charge your car directly at the charging station. The key is also hanging under the carport, so your holiday can start immediately.

You enter the farmhouse from the early 50s through the front door and enter a wonderfully warm hall, with all the details of farmer Friedl still present. Then you step into the large kitchen that is fully equipped. The utility room is also included.
Then you enter the spacious living room with a large table to play endless games, or to dine together. The smart TV and the Sonos sound system are also included. Enjoy streaming or Netflix via our guest account. It's all possible.

Then you walk through the living room and enter the Wintergarten, where you can relax on the couch or in 1 of the armchairs to enjoy the view. Here you will spend many hours! Lovely with the underfloor heating on...

Going downstairs, you enter the large bathroom with toilet and large 2-person bath and a separate shower room. In addition, you will find the sauna room where you can enjoy a Finnish sauna, a Dampfbad or an infrared sauna.

On the first floor you will find two 2-person bedrooms, each with their own style and a 4-person bedroom with four single beds and a lovely round seat for crafting or playing. The smart TV is also not missing here.

On this floor is also the 2nd bathroom with toilet and underfloor heating and offers access to a large west-facing balcony.

On the second floor there are two more 2-person bedrooms, 1 of which has a balcony with round seating and a great view to the south.

Our house has a garden of 1,200 m2 that is fully fenced and where you can let your dog play without him running away. There is also a playground for the smaller children.
There is also a lovely terrace with a view to the south, a covered terrace with wood stove and barbecue for lovely long evenings outside, in winter with a ski suit on.

We rent from Saturday to Saturday, fewer days are negotiable and we can make you a suitable proposal.

Untersagritz is a village where there are no facilities, but where you can make it cozy at home. Après-ski is not very extensive in these areas, but our house lends itself to wonderful evenings by the fire, a glass of wine, wonderful music on and enjoying the company.
Or how about a lovely evening walk with lanterns (available) to the waterfall to have a drink there?

Supermarket, restaurants and other activities can be found 1.5 km away in Döllach.

Our house is decorated with care and contains many details that match the Austrian countryside. Hunting can also be found in our house.

In the summer the outdoor sports are endless, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, rafting, hut tours, cable cars, swimming pool in Döllach (1.5km) and how about motorcycling, and so on.
In winter we go skiing in Heiligenblut (tough), in Lienz (Zettersfeld, delicious!), on the Mölltaler Gletscher (delicious!) or in Kals (great, many options).
The areas are not very big, but we are always with a large group and you don't lose them. The children can get some freedom and at every Almhütte they get something to drink. Everything nice and compact.

There are plenty of restaurants, we are happy to advise you in advance.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not have bed and bath linen as standard. You must bring your own. All beds have 1-person duvets and mattresses. We can arrange this for you on request, but there are additional costs involved. Renting bed linen costs 10 euros per person. 

We politely ask you to leave the house on Saturday before 09:00 and we give our cleaning team until 16:00 to leave the house wonderfully clean.
