What a place, in a simply beautiful lovely Swiss village.
Okay, we were lucky, 23+ degrees during the day in September, dry and sunny and that may not only color our skin but possibly also our perception. And I simply love the solid carpenter (furniture maker quality!) craftsmanship that this classically built Swiss house also radiates inside and out.
Are all the clichés about Switzerland valid here?
Well, definitely a few.
The view. Almost 360 degrees all around, it looks like on the classic Swiss postcard, think of the front of that crayon box from the past.
Cleanliness: yes, really, the house is (was...) really perfectly clean everywhere. (How do they do that???)
The interior: showroom quality, nowhere anything like a dent or dent in a tabletop or chair leg. You can argue about taste, but a good comfy sofa and nice, well-cared for personal interior things.
Sleeping: like a baby. The bed was so good that we are now seriously considering replacing our own bed at home.
Kitchen: Everything I could think of is there, in abundance. If I ever come up with the (in my case not so advisable) idea to make a six+ course Christmas dinner or something in a holiday home, there are really all the things available for that. (Insider tip from this not exactly kitchen prince: the neighbor's cook, Hotel Diana, turned out to be very good.)
Swiss robust and solid?
Yes. Large spacious bedrooms, large closets for all the clothes and luggage that turned out to be far too much and unnecessary that we dragged with us for a week in Switzerland.
Oh yes, a Miele washing machine & tumble dryer in spacious laundry room. Mighty handy.
Spacious sitting and enjoying the view from a spacious wide balcony, also here a comfy sofa!.
Wifi: very well used: we didn't have all days "off" because we also had to work quite a bit, and that went perfectly well with internet online and without hitches. (For the fellow nerds: Ookla speed tests always well above 50Mb/s up and down, meetings with many participants in Zoom, Teams and even with Brightspace from the balcony: fine!)
Surroundings: We don't have to have the shops nearby so perfect for us, door out = into nature, or flat sloping through green meadows flat, or slope really over the mountain, very nice also via the road zigzag slope on always new views in an hour brisk walk to restaurant Chemistube etc.
The train station is a 5-minute walk away. (The Golden Tip: If you want to join: press the button in the waiting area otherwise the train will pass you by without stopping).
We walked a lot, the house contains all the info and maps and also tickets for free with the local buses (=recommended!). After a long beautiful day of walking, we went for a swim in the enviably beautiful outdoor pool of Lenk.

Especially later in the winter, and then let's see if it's really only a 50 or maybe 60 meter walk to the ski bus stop in front of the door.
