We had bicycles with us, so the location on the long-distance cycle path (former railway line) was ideal for us. (For walking routes you have to go to e.g. Munkfors.) It is wonderfully quiet and it is a very spacious, cozy house with a nice covered terrace and large garden. Host and hostess easily accessible and helpful. Lakes (swimming) nearby.

The landlords were very friendly and helpful. After we had indicated that the kettle was broken, we brought a new one. It is a nice spacious house, quiet and the veranda is really of added value. The surroundings are also beaut...

The landlords were very friendly and helpful. After we had indicated that the kettle was broken, we brought a new one. It is a nice spacious house, quiet and the veranda is really of added value. The surroundings are also beautiful: lots of nature for walking/cycling/canoeing.
A tip: the kitchen and bathroom could use a good cleaning.

We stayed 9 nights in this characteristic cottage in September 2021. We had a great time and didn't really miss anything essential.

Indeed, there is an asphalted bike path almost right in front of the door (former train track); from Karlstad to Hagfors.

What disappointed us a bit was that there was no lazy lounge sofa in the house (only 1 nice easy chair). We had also hoped for fresh bread rolls from that bakery that would be right on the road, but it was no longer operational.
Finally, we would have liked it if the bed was made on arrival (we arrived quite tired from the trip).

The owners were super friendly and helpful!

But we have already discussed this with the landlords. As far as we are concerned, a wonderful home to spend your holiday.

Positively surprised by the size and possibilities in and around the house.

There is little to do within walking distance, but by car there is plenty of special nature to see, hike and swim within fifteen minutes.

Towards the end of our stay, something went wrong with the mains in the cottage. (According to the owner, this was because I charged a hybrid car in combination with the use of other devices in the house). As a result, the refrigerator stopped cooling, so we had to throw things away. Also, some fans didn't work properly anymore, the vacuum cleaner ran at half power and we didn't have hot water on the last night.

When we reported this, the owner quickly came to us to offer a solution for the fridge, but unfortunately no compensation was offered for the inconvenience.

All in all a nice and special stay.

Sjoerds Hus is cozy and stylishly furnished. The beds were fine and outside there is a nice veranda surrounded by lots of greenery and trees. It is a quiet area and from the house you can easily reach a 90 km long cycle path. Plenty of swimming opportunities nearby in the many lakes or in the river. Nearby is also a bakery with delicious bread, you can also go there for juices and cheeses from the region and a cup of coffee. A car is a must if you go to Sjoerds Hus, although there is also a bus stop nearby (Hagfors and Karlstad with nice museums). If you like peace and quiet and (activities in) nature, you've come to the right place.

We enjoyed Sjoerds Hus so much! The house is in a nice peaceful/quiet place. We still used the fire pit, very nice to warm sausages and marshmallows over the fire. The landlords are very friendly and helpful! Definitely recomme...

We rented Sjoerd Hus from 4 Aug to 18 Aug 2018. We enjoyed the cottage very much, plenty of space, even outdoors.
Everything was present in the house, we didn't miss anything. The children have also been thought of, toys and films.
We have experienced the contact with the Willemsen family as very nice/pleasant. We gave everything a 9 out of 10. We were all very satisfied, and would like to come back again.
