Villapark Fontein:
The park is a spacious area that also allows for walks in nature. You feel very safe because there is a check at the entrance. Except for brisk construction activity on some buildings and streets, it is very quiet. Due to the higher location, there is a constant draught of wind, which is very pleasant at the temperatures. You can see the sea, which is about ten minutes away by car. The park is about a 20-minute drive from Willemstad and it takes just as long to get to Westpunt, the outermost edge of the island. There are few shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Here you should orientate yourself in the direction of the capital. On the other hand, the most beautiful beaches can be reached in a few minutes. The ones you have to pay for admission are not always the best.
Villa Hopi Kontentu:
The holiday home with a large terrace and garden is very spacious and offers a great view of the Caribbean Sea. The large garden with volleyball court does not obstruct the view. The garden is not the place to be in the heat.
In the house itself, the rooms are large and intelligently arranged. The open kitchen is well equipped, but should offer a few more storage options, especially if you prefer to cook at home because of COVID-19. On the other hand, the refrigerator with freezer compartment is large and great and the equipment leaves little to be desired.
A small point of criticism is the air conditioning, which works very well, but is very loud and glows light blue.
The bathroom with a large shower is almost superfluous, because you use the outdoor shower and toilet. We found it pleasant that there is no TV set good. The WIFI is excellent but does not reach into the garden.
Outside, there are two highlights: the gazebo and the pool. The pavilion is really a great place with nice breeze to sit, read or sleep there. The pool is decently large, so you can swim a few laps as well. However, it is surprisingly deep at 1.75m. Unfortunately, especially on the floor, it could be seen that it could apparently not be used for a few months due to corona and required a thorough cleaning. The same applies to the area of the washing machine and the grill, without us crying ourselves to sleep because of it.
All in all, a great time that went by much too quickly with smooth and friendly handling at the handover and departure.
