We (Lenny and I) have been living in Spain since 2003 in our masia Can Pastera in Macanet de la Selva, a village between Gerona and Barcelona. We have four apartments in El Campello (Alicante), 600 km further south, IN THE SECTION WITH THE BEST CLIMATE IN EUROPE, right on the sea with a LARGE terrace on the GROUND floor. The climate is great, especially in winter and the unobstructed view of the sea, swimming pool and garden is fantastic.
