Buongiorno! My name is Anette de Boer and I have been living and working as a dietician in Italy since 1987. It is a real pleasure for my compatriots to enjoy the Italian life in the midst of my current villagers. The last two weeks of August I stay in the house myself and then take the bike to the local beach or to the bay "Riva Bianca", just before Varenna, a true jewel on Lake Como.

In the weekends I go into the mountains, where you can go hiking. Many trails start walking 20 minutes uphill from the house. A visit to nearby Milan or Bergamo is also definitely worth it. Add to that the many excellent restaurants, aperitifs and cappuccinos and you have "La Dolce Vita!".

Great location, convenient that there is a train station in the village. You can do a lot by train. Didn't need the car. Had a nice meal and swam.

It's true what you say. It is not touristy here and that gives a living like a local feeling. In addition, there is always a lot to do culturally in Mandello.
Thanks for the excellent review!

Had a nice holiday! Everything is within walking distance and you can also take the train. There are also bicycles, but we didn't dare to do that in Italy 🤭. Nice villages and outings in the area. Cottage is very complete, but...

Monique, the fact that you arrived in Mandello by bike from the Netherlands and also write such a nice review, is reason for me to nominate you as the best guest of the year!
