What a lovely house, indeed! The cottage is fully equipped, modernly furnished, neat and clean. You will be warmly welcomed (also from a distance), all big and small things have been thought of (dishwasher blocks and detergent available, garbage bags in the bins, toilet paper in the toilet, but also a large supply of clean towels and kitchen linen) you will be well informed about the house and the area through good communication by email and an information book. A delicious bottle of wine was waiting for us. We enjoyed the house itself and especially the wonderfully spacious, sheltered and beautifully landscaped garden. Even on the hottest days, there was shade to be found in and near the cozy seat in the back, and of course the hot tub does not need to :)be heated up very hot in those circumstances. We saw birds scurrying around in the early morning.
The recreational lake at the park is a short walk away, and with the inflatable canoe we brought with us, it was a slight bump, but not insurmountable. Our children went back and forth by themselves with a folding scooter and a swimming bag, but for parents with smaller children that is something to think about.
The surroundings of the Rijk van Nijmegen are beautiful, and many more nice trips can be reached within the hour (recommended: the Geofort in Herwijnen and Toverland in Sevenum).
Mark and Marlie, thank you for the hospitality! We really had the feeling of being welcome in a house that you also enjoy, there was clearly 'soul' in it. We enjoyed it immensely.
