We stayed with a group of 10 for a long weekend in the Donkey Stable. Very nice location, within the gate of Ampsen Castle. We had a lovely walk in the vicinity of the castle and visited a museum. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful spot. Squirrels and woodpeckers live in the garden and the owl sounds at night. The estate is a great place to walk and Lochem, Zutphen and Deventer are nearby. The cottage is very complete and the beds sleep wonderfully. Because of the steep stairs, we find it less suitable for small children.

For the third year we had a family weekend in the Donkey Stable and we enjoyed it immensely. The house is attractive and cozy, the kitchen is well equipped and the garden is beautiful.

I recommend this place to anyone who loves old buildings and beautiful surroundings. We were there with family and other relatives for the second time now. Peace and quiet, and although there is no real children's entertainment...

I recommend this place to anyone who loves old buildings and beautiful surroundings. We were there with family and other relatives for the second time now. Peace and quiet, and although there is no real children's entertainment, the lawn is lovely and there is also plenty of space to play inside.
