In August 2023, you will be able to stay at Casa Cameléon in the Spanish Algarve for 3 weeks. The route to it was a challenge for the first time; Via a -partly paved- mountain road, but nevertheless 'exciting'.

In August 2023, you will be able to stay at Casa Cameléon in the Spanish Algarve for 3 weeks. The route to it was a challenge for the first time; Via a -partly paved- mountain road, but nevertheless 'exciting'.
Rental car has had a hard time; The reward is that the panoramic view of the quietly located location makes up for a lot.

Fully equipped, everything neat, clean and well maintained. Route is now paved. It takes some getting used to, it remains a mountain road, but you get a great panoramic view and a lot of peace in return. In ±20 min you are on the highway so suitable for excursions.

We spent the month of February 2022 at Casa Camaleon with great pleasure. The house is ideal for a stay in the winter month. The house can be heated very nicely on cold evenings with the wood stove. Our children came during spring break. The bedroom with extra bathroom as well as a bed in the attic was particularly well appreciated.
They spent their holidays there with great pleasure.
The house is very pleasantly furnished. We especially liked the use of colors. From the kitchen you look into the valley. That was fun cooking and cleaning up later. Speaking of the kitchen; It was so nice and fully furnished, it was a joy to be there.
The bedrooms have good beds and especially the master bedroom has fantastic views and a door to the terrace.
The setting is fantastic! The road is spectacular. And honestly; we had to get used to it, we come from a part of the Netherlands where the countryside is really flat. But soon we were rowing up and down the mountain!
The weather was very pleasant. It is and remains February, but the sun-filled days predominated. Sometimes strong winds, sometimes rain, fog. But never for long. And always the fantastic view.
We took beautiful walks, enjoyed Arenas with the village pub Juanete which often served as a lovely stop.
Algorobbo is a lovely place with excellent shopping. The Costas are easy to reach and by the way, with the highway so close, trips to various highlights in Andalusia were easily accessible.
In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our winter month at Casa Camaleon.
William and Carine, our heartfelt thanks for the good explanations and the hospitality that was so excellently observed by Rafa and his family, on your behalf. No effort was too much. And lots of nice explanations and interest during our stay.

We hope to come back someday.

Had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful house away from the masses, as said it is 20 to 30 minutes on a mountain road with here and there steep part but also just with an automatic is doable, just make sure you go up and down the mountain in manual and then it goes by itself. The cottage is like walking into your own home, everything is there and there is no shortage of involvement and information from the owners. The lake at ardales is also well worth a visit.

With great regret in our hearts we have to say goodbye to this very charming holiday home. We really enjoyed our stay here, you are in a blissful environment in the middle of the mountains and nature with very beautiful sea views. The ideal way to escape the daily grind and completely de-stress. The cottage was completely in order, very clean and fully equipped with what you need.
Rafa provided a good welcome and was very helpful.
We also have nothing but praise for William and Carine, they are very flexible and think along with you, very helpful and easy to contact with any questions etc.
The way to the house is, as others have indicated, not easy, but it did not stop us from going out every now and then. The road is not easy but really doable, once you take the road a few times you will get the hang of how to drive there. However, we have a low car and with some caution it works well.
We are definitely looking forward to a next holiday here!

When Rafa (the Spanish helper) picked us up at the gas station at the bottom of the mountain, the experience of a lifetime began. The road to the house offered a view for 10 and a challenge for most drivers. How wonderful to flow into the holiday like this. Once we arrived at the house, we were amazed. From the inside, which was neatly upholstered and hygienic, to the paronorama view, which you won't get bored of. Day in and day out (and night) we enjoyed the beauty that Casa Camaleon has to offer. The pool offered a wonderful cooling in the hot Spanish temperatures and the mountain seemed to tell its own story that you looked at differently every day. It took some time (20 min.) to get down, but there you have cozy seaside resorts and Spanish white villages where you can stroll around all day. We didn't do many outings, also because of corona, but we weren't bored for a minute. When the oven unfortunately turned out to be broken on the first day, we were helped very well and immediately by William, Carine and Rafa. They arranged a new oven so that the problem was solved immediately.

A big compliment to William and Carine who took care of everything down to the last detail before the trip. From information mails in the area to creating more shaded areas on the terrace, they kept us well informed!

This holiday was in one word enjoyment and we already miss the beautiful place!

We have been coming to Andalusia for years, but this is the first time that we have come across such a well-maintained and clean house. The anticipation was also well fed by the owner William who informed us with photos and updates of the current situation and everything that had been renewed in the house. Upon arrival we were brought up the mountain by Rafa (the caretaker). A very friendly guy who helped us very well.
At one point we had some problems with insects (which was already neatly indicated in advance), but this was still solved in a very neat way by William and Rafa, after which we were not bothered by them for the rest of the holiday.
The house is big enough for a family of 5. All rooms have ceiling fans, so you don't really need the air conditioning. Lots of mosquito nets, which actually excludes the chance of mosquitoes (provided you close everything neatly).
The sea view is beautiful and especially in the evening with all the lights in the beach village (Torre del Mar) really a pleasure to watch.
All in all, we had a super holiday in the house, where the price/quality deserves an absolute 10.

PS. As with all houses in the mountains, you have to take into account a somewhat narrow mountain road. The house can be reached via two different roads.

We had a nice holiday at Casa Cameleon. The house has a beautiful view from the terrace and pool.
The layout and facilities are fine, everything you need is there.
To get to the house, however, you don't have to be a fearful rider and you have to have a strong bike. It is quite a narrow and steep road. We were with a large Renault Master and this made it extra difficult for us to go out. We only went out once in the 10 days we were here. Because this road was not suitable for our big bus, that was a pity. Unfortunately, with the exit there was also a small damage with the bus.
We really relaxed this holiday, and we will not soon forget the beautiful view.
