After years of dreaming of buying a vacation home in Florida, our dream finally came true in 2011.
The holiday home is located in a closed park, where not everyone can just drive in. You need a code to open the entrance gate.
Across the highway 27 and therefore a minutes drive away you will find Posner Park/Village, a large outlet center with Ross, Beals, Marshals, Bath & Body Works, Home Goods, Burlington, etc. and for the creative a Micheals and since 2022 the Hobby. Lobby. You will also find a Target supermarket and many dining options here.
About a 15-minute drive from all Disney parks and a 30-minute drive from Universal Studios and Seaworld (Legoland has also been added since 2013). Also recommended is the town of Celebration, about a 15-minute drive away. Built by the Disney corporation, entirely in the classic Victorian style, wonderful for walking in the evening and eating a delicious ice cream in a rocking chair by the lake.
Our house has a living area of 180 square meters.
There are 5 bedrooms that are modernly furnished, 4 bathrooms, of which only the two children's rooms have to share their bathroom.
We rent our house based on a maximum of 6 adults and 4 children
There is a separate dinning room with a 6-person dining room table, and you will also find a bookcase with various Dutch books.
The kitchen is open to the living room and has a breakfast nook with a 4-person dining room table. All equipment is of better quality.
The living room is contemporary and fully equipped (you immediately feel at home).
Each bedroom has its own style, because we have each decorated our room according to our own wishes. We have used some Disney items in the children's rooms to keep the Disney atmosphere alive for the children.
Access to the swimming pool is from the living room through sliding doors. You can sit there under the patio or of course in the sun on the terrace. There is also a door to the bathroom/toilet of the master bedroom, so you don't have to go through the living room with wet swimwear. The sun comes out on the terrace around 11:00 am and from the swimming pool you can see the sun setting, so there is sun practically all day.
We have a fairly large swimming pool, so you can play all kinds of (soft) ball games in it, or just sunbathe, floating on your own air mattress (very cheap at Walmart).
Of course we have the screened porch that is common in Florida, this is a mesh cage so you are not bothered by vermin and can still fully enjoy the sun and sit with the light on in the evening.
Then the unobstructed view from the swimming pool, you look out on a retention area (water collection), a large area that remains undeveloped, what more could you wish for.
