Chalet Urmel is a typical Swiss chalet with a cozy character.
The house is located in the quiet mountain village of Beatenberg (1100 m. altitude) with an unobstructed view of the Bernese Alps, Lake Thun and villages in the valley.
The spacious south-facing balcony offers the opportunity to enjoy the sun extensively, and is ideal for breakfast, or reading a book. Of course depending on the weather. Until late in the late season, or even on nice days in winter, it is wonderful to relax on the balcony and enjoy the panoramic view of the Eiger, Mönch and the Jungfrau, or after a walk from a drink. In the warm summer months you can always find a place to sit in or out of the sun.
The house is equipped with all kinds of conveniences. The kitchen is fully equipped, television with Dutch channels is available, and of course free use of Wifi. 2 separate bedrooms with good beds, and in the living room a nice sofa and a relaxing armchair. Wherever you are, you always have the beautiful view of the valley and the mountains.
The most important thing Beatenberg has to offer is the peace, the view, the sun and nature. Beatenberg has remained a simple village, with limited tourism. From early spring to late summer, the mountain landscape invites you to hike. The splendour of flowers on the alpine meadows is magnificent, but forests with beautiful autumn colours are also fantastic. Because Beatenberg is located on a southern slope, it has many hours of sunshine
From the village it is a fifteen minute drive to Interlaken, a city with all the facilities that come with it. There are also many trips in the area, with mountain railways into the mountains or other activities. There are also many adrenaline sports nearby, such as paragliding, rafting, or mountain biking.
The shops in the village offer everything for daily needs. There is 1 small supermarket annex greengrocer, a Beck bakery with fresh bread within a 10-minute walk and several other shops, where you can go for sports equipment, ski rental or souvenirs.
Sports activities that you can do in the village include swimming in the indoor pool, mini golf, jogging track, trotti-biking, and much more..... In the winter, of course, supplemented with all kinds of winter sports activities. In the village there are excellent skiing opportunities for the novice skier, and in the Jungfrau region the advanced skier will also get his money's worth.
On the various terraces you can enjoy the view and a cup of coffee, the local tourist center can advise you on current activities in the village and the surrounding area, and rent mountain bikes, among other things.
The village has a number of hotels and restaurants where you can eat tastefully and for delicious pattiserie a tearoom. Wherever you land, the phenomenal view continues to fascinate.
