Welcome to the Herrgården. The farmhouse from 1883 is a spacious place to turn down the gear a few notches and enjoy the rising and setting sun, bird sounds, ever-changing light on the lake and the wind in the trees. The rental includes fast unlimited internet, electricity and firewood so you know exactly where you stand. Always a starter pack in the kitchen. If you also rent sheets, you will also find your beds made.
The Herrgården has an area of 220 m2 but is also very cozy and pleasant for 2 people or a small family due to the division into an upper and a lower floor. With 5 bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms, a dining room and a large kitchen, it can accommodate up to 10 people. If you are willing to share the kitchen, this farm is an option for two families who want to spend their holidays together. The house is equipped with many comforts but the level of finish is simple and the basement, which is not accessible, has not yet been renovated. All rooms, except one, are very spacious. There are large dining tables in both the kitchen and dining room, two modern bathrooms, a cosy fireplace and several wood burning stoves as well as central heating throughout the house connected to a heat pump. In the living room downstairs there is a grand piano and in the living room upstairs a TV with casting options. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and music system available. Fiber optic high speed internet. The Herrgården is well insulated and carefully renovated with a beautiful veranda and is characterized by traditional Swedish tiled stoves and wooden beams. From the kitchen, the dining room, the living room downstairs and one of the bedrooms you look out on the private lake. The house is equipped with useful items and suitable antique utensils. The kitchen is equipped with many appliances and kitchen utensils for very extensive cooking. There are also comfortable mattresses and beds everywhere, several sofas and comfortable armchairs.
The Herrgården offers a lot of privacy, only the immediate neighbors at 200 meters are within sight. The natural beauty is overwhelming, lakes and rivers and beautiful forests in abundance. There is no paved road from the hamlet and around the house there is silence that is only broken by the sounds of nature - and occasionally by crunching stones under the tires of a single car or the rushing water in the dam in the distance. For groceries or a café/terrace you have to drive a long way (20 to 40 km) and this makes the house not suitable for everyone. Of course, there are many different day trips possible, e.g. to museums, a spa, outdoor centers, the locks of the Bergslag Canal, the Wasa shop, nice small towns, old Finnish settlements, and cities such as Karlstad, Mora and Örebro. At the same time, the nature here is so breathtaking that most guests prefer hiking and canoeing, making fires, picking berries, fishing, swimming, moose watching or just relaxing with a book rather than going out by car every day. Before you arrive you will receive a document with information about outings, restaurants, shops, skiing and cross-country skiing opportunities and walks.
Layout outside area:
At the front door of the Herrgården a large veranda with dining table and at the back a picnic table and a large lawn up to the lake. At the edge of the garden a wood/boat shed with canopy. At the bottom of the garden with berry bushes and fruit trees a large wooden deck with barbecue/fire pit and fantastic views. At the edge of the water there is a jetty with a bench and a staircase for easy swimming.
There are several canoes with accessories that can be used in consultation. For canoeing, there are also children's paddles and children's life jackets. The village is located on the famous canoe river Svartalv on which multi-day trips are also possible. You can paddle back and forth in a southerly direction on the very light-flowing river that after the village crosses a very beautiful nature reserve without roads and with tributaries and lake branches. In a northerly direction, the river is a lake with islands where canoeing is also a great adventure. At 2 km there is a public swimming beach with bathing cabins and a long jetty that you can reach on foot, by canoe, bicycle or car. This is a lovely place, welcome!
