Our modern holiday home, built in 2018, is located in an old orchard with about 20 fruit trees.
The cottage is small, with about 40 m2 of floor space, but it is extremely smart and functionally designed and everything you need is there.
By the way, due to the height of the ceiling in the room (almost 5 meters), the house feels much larger than it really is.
And the wide view over the large lake and the rolling landscape on the horizon completes the spatial experience.
The Green Escape is often fully booked early in the season. Since June 2024, a new holiday home has been built on the same spacious plot: the Green Horizon Holiday Home (max. 6 people). Perhaps the new house is an alternative. See elsewhere on Micazu!
Back to the Green Escape:
For the large south-facing windows, a window sill has been made over the entire width of the house as a sitting/lying/hanging area. It is wonderful to dive into the cushions here, with a book or laptop (if the weather is not so good).
The house offers 4 excellent sleeping arrangements, 2 of which are upstairs, in the bedroom that offers the most beautiful view. There are also a few nice sun loungers, because this view never gets boring.
The modern bathroom has a nice shower, toilet and sink.
The complete kitchen, with a combi microwave/oven, is inviting, but what could be better than cooking outside over a wood fire in our old orchard? A barbeque, cast iron pans and all kinds of other outdoor cooking equipment are part of the standard equipment.
On the south is a beautiful terrace with beautiful views, where you will find a dining table with 4 chairs, a parasol and a sitting area. And between 2 apple trees you can hang the hammock...
The house is not called "Green Escape" for nothing.
The plot (2,150 m2) offers plenty of space with wild blackberries, cultivated raspberries, hazel, 20 apple and pear trees. In addition, you will find a herb garden and a small vegetable garden with sometimes tomatoes or sometimes strawberries or zucchini. And, as our guest, you can harvest what you want for your own use.
French monks once brought escargots (vineyard snails) to this area and you can also find them on our plot and everywhere in the area. Tip from 1 of our guests: Put in a container, let it fast for 2 days, blanch, remove from the shell and fry with garlic and fresh herbs.
Although the house is located in an orchard, there are no tall trees in the immediate vicinity, so we have sun all day. In the Swedish summer you are talking about from 04:00 in the morning to 22:00 in the evening!
And to make it extra attractive: Our cottage includes the use of a 4-person motor/rowing boat and a 2-person canoe. Both are located in the harbor of Vånga about 400 m. away.
