Santa Margalida

Since 2022 we are the proud owners of this beautiful duplex apartment of approximately 100m2 located in Bagergue in the Valle d'Aran, in the Spanish Pyrenees.

You can go mountain walking, hiking, climbing, rafting, mountain biking, cross down hill mountain biking, horseback riding, canoeing, canyoning and much more. There is plenty to do here for the active holidaymaker. Of course you can also enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the tranquility here. Then you also have the  delicious gastronomy that the Aranese valley has to offer. In short, the ultimate pleasure that made us fall for this environment. Visiting the ancient villages is also highly recommended, as if time has stood still here, everything has remained so beautifully intact. The valley has numerous high-quality restaurants, the standard here is very high. That's why you don't really miss the mark here. There are restaurants in all price ranges, but in general the price is manageable by Dutch standards.

Our village of Bagergue, is the highest inhabited village in the whole valley, it is located at an altitude of 1490 meters. This guarantees beautiful panoramas. The village is directly connected to a beautiful hiking trail, namely just a few minutes walk from the apartment. For the winter, it is interesting to know that it is only a 5-minute drive from the Baqueira - Beret ski area! This is also called the Lech of Spain, as the King of Spain always comes here to ski and our own Queen Máxima also went skiing here with friends in February 2024. If there is enough snow and if you are an experienced skier, you can even ski almost to the apartment. You have to go a little bit off-piste. A nice challenge if you are skilled enough. The village of Bagergue is very popular, it has no less than 4 restaurants while there are only 105 inhabitants. In summer, it is also called the flower village of Spain! There's something for everyone here! That makes it an excellent destination.

A big advantage for long weekend stay is that Bagergue is only a 2-hour drive from Toulouse airport From Utrecht it is approximately 1310km and 13.5 hours drive. Lleida airport is 2 hours away, Barcelona airport is about 3.5 hours away and Girona airport is also about 3.5 hours away. We usually fly to Toulouse with KLM, which is a nice connection and the road to Bagergue from here is very easy, it is mainly highway, and as soon as you get off the highway it is not a complicated route but a beautiful route!

If you are interested in a holiday combination of mountains and coast, we can also recommend our house in Calonge on the Costa Brava. Many people, like us, really like to alternate the coast for the mountains or the other way around, it is only a 4-hour drive from each other.
