Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Please contact us regarding changeover days in the low season — occasionally the calendar may show some dates as unavailable when they are in fact possible.

Security/damage deposit is not requested. We do not take a security deposit from clients but operate on an honesty basis, should you break something we would appreciate its replacement and notification to us.


Please note that there is a compulsory 100€ cleaning fee per stay applicable on top of the rental rates.


The letting includes bed linen and towels. Please bring your own beach/pool towels. A washing machine, ironing board and iron are provided for your use.


Pets are welcome at Casa Las Jaras at a charge of €50 per week per pet.

The cost of electricity, gas and water is included in the weekly rental price. Also all the wood necessary for the fireplace for the winter season. No hidden extras. Electricity Usage Policy / Electric Vehicles - Effective from 1st January 2025. Due to the abuse of uncontrolled electricity consumption, particularly from the use of electric vehicles, we have been forced to implement a new electricity usage policy. The average electricity consumption for a family of four in Spain is approximately 300 kWh per month. In light of this, we have set a daily electricity usage limit of 10 kWh per stay. Please note that any electricity usage exceeding the 10 kWh per day limit will incur an additional charge of €0.25 per kWh. This measure has been implemented to address the high demand for electricity driven by the charging of electric vehicles.

If the renter wishes to cancel the booking for any reason, the renter must always confirm this to the host via email (even if this has already been communicated to the host by telephone, for example).

The host will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:


    • cancellation more than 6 months before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price
    • cancellation between the 180th and the 90th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
    • cancellation less than 90 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price

Additional information

You will find a number of spectacular walks here. Walks vary from easy to difficult, so the region can easily cater for all tastes and abilities. The natural park Sierra Almijara and Tejeda offer a wide variety of walks. The summer in the area is very hot. If you want to have an active walking holiday the summer is not the best time of the year. The rest of the year the climate is agreeable (usually 10 to 15 degrees higher than Great Britain and the Netherlands).

Wherever you walk you will love the flora, fauna, architecture, spectacular scenery, history and the warm welcoming people of this corner of Andalucia. Here’s your perfect opportunity to enjoy a dream holiday walking in Spain.

The photographs shown below have been taken a 3 minutes' drive away from the property. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and has not been taken over by tourism. Moved away from the coast line and the main attractions are the dramatic hills and mountains with the wonderful scenery they offer and also the unspoilt, white villages which are a pleasure to visit and stroll through whilst soaking up the local atmosphere.

Spaniards in general are not great walkers, although the walking area here is immense. So it often happens that while walking a whole day in a fantastic area, you won’t encounter any other walker. Bring your binoculars and you will be amazed at the stunning views, the wonderful local area and typical white villages.
35 minutes' drive away: Torre del Mar is situated on the coast at 28 kilometres to the east of Malaga, and has a population of 20,000. There are wide sandy beaches flanked by a long beachfront promenade. Torre del Mar has a lot of atmosphere and local flavour with numerous shops and restaurants (including some very good fish and seadfood restaurants). Torre del Mar is in a completely flat area which makes getting around very easy.
10 minutes' drive away. Salares is one of the best-preserved villages in Malaga province. This is a very peaceful village of 150 inhabitants situated in the Axarquia region, on the "Route of the Mudejar". Its most beautiful feature is the minaret tower of Saint Ann's Church (formerly a mosque), declared National Historical Monument in 1979. The village is characterised by its whitewashed houses of typically Moorish design and for its steep and winding streets.
Discover El Saltillo Bridge, one of Spain's largest suspension bridges, nestled in the enchanting landscapes of Canillas de Aceituno. Spanning the Almanchares River, this architectural wonder stretches 50 meters long and 1.20 meters wide. Take a safe stroll on the elevated metal walkways, over 100 meters high, offering stunning views of the Tejeda, Almijara, and Alhama Mountains. El Saltillo Bridge is a must-see for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
Located nearby Torre Del Mar, Aqua Velis is the largest park of its kind in The Axarquia and has over 20 different rides: superfast slides, inflatable ring rides and two large pools one with a wave machine. The park is open 7 days a week from mid June to Mid September.
The shopping centre hosts everything you could need; a large Eroski supermarket, high street fashion shops, sport shops, pet shops, technology and white good stores, a gym and a cinema with all the latest Hollywood blockbusters.
40 km away is the famous coastal town of Nerja. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town now has a population of over 22,000. Nerja boasts plenty of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing. The heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcón de Europa, a magnificent promenade from where you have a magnificent view over the Mediterranean Sea.
