Along the entire coast there are several bays with alternating sand and pebble beaches. The nearest bays are 6 to 8 minutes by car and have plenty of free parking.
Below is a selection of what to see and experience within a maximum of 35 minutes by car:
- Tarragona is a city with many remains from Roman times, such as the more than 2000-year-old aqueduct and the amphitheater. In addition, the impressively large Cathedral is also worth a visit.
- Reus: the birthplace of the famous architect Antoni Gaudi, known for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Highly recommended to visit is the Gaudi museum "Gaudi Centre Reus". This museum provides a nice overview of Gaudi's origins and youth and the influence of this on his work in an interesting and interactive way.
- The cozy and lively seaside resort of Salou. In the middle of Salou is the Levante Beach. This 1200 meter long beautiful golden sandy beach is located on the promenade of Salou. Along the boulevard are many restaurants, bars and a wide range of water sports activities.
- For centuries, the coastal town of Cambrils has been known for the local fishing tradition and the production of wine and olive oil, but Cambrils has also started to focus more and more on tourism over time. Nice to go shopping and then extinguish on a terrace and/or have a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants.
- The 3 Port Aventura amusement parks are a stone's throw from Salou and together they are the largest amusement park in Spain. "Port Aventura World" offers various attractions, including the highest roller coaster in Europe, the Shambhala. In addition to "Port Aventura World", "Ferrari Land" (for the Ferrari fan) and "Caribe Aquatic Park" (for the water park enthusiast) can also be visited. A combi ticket is the cheapest, but the 3 parks can also be visited separately.
