Holiday homes in Pals
A wonderful
nature home, relaxing under the Spanish sun, the beaches of the
Costa Brava a stone's throw away: all this is possible with a holiday home in Pals. And that’s not all because Pals has plenty to offer for a wonderful holiday on the Costa Brava. This charming village is located on top of a hill, just a few minutes’ drive from the coast. Pals continues to the sea and actually consists of two parts.
Platja de Pals (‘Platja’ is Catalan for beach) is a modern seaside resort with many holiday homes and hotels, whereas the old part of Pals, which is located on the hill, has a rich history dating back to Roman times.
A walk through the past
The old part of Pals is actually one big attraction. The village centre consists of a maze of lovely streets, alleys and squares, and its heart is formed by the Torre de les Hores, the old Romanesque bell tower, which is surrounded by houses and buildings from the Middle Ages. The wealth of the medieval residents of Pals is clearly visible in the beautifully decorated balconies and facades. Whilst walking through the village, you’ll also come across a number of beautiful fountains and small palaces, and a bit further down, you’ll find the remains of an old city wall. It’s almost impossible to imagine that Platja de Pals is practically around the corner. The coastal towns of
Begur and
l’Estartit are also easy to get to from Pals.
