For decades my family has come here to relax in this enchanting and characterful family home, built for my grandparents in the sixties, hidden in the unspoilt nature of Catalonia and yet close to the city and the sea.

This is a place where everyone gets their money's worth - the detached house is located in the middle of a beautiful green hiking and mountain biking area and yet Barcelona and Girona are easy to visit for a day trip. Spain's award winning PGA Catalunya Golf is only 13km away and the beach on the Costa Brava is 25km.

You are away from the crowd and there is plenty to do.

The moment you pull up the driveway and are greeted by the two giant cypress trees you know your vacation has begun. The house is an oasis of peace, completely private and located in a protected, bird-rich nature reserve. The swimming pool also offers privacy and is also heated. Enjoy the panoramic view from your sun lounger by the pool, or from one of the several terraces while the crickets lull you to sleep. Eating outside at the long table is a pleasure.

There are two cozy bedrooms with private bathroom, and two bedrooms that share a bathroom in the hallway. Perfect for two families, for example. There are games in the cupboard and there is no shortage of books either - by the fireplace or in the conservatory you can enjoy a drink after a day full of activity. The rustic kitchen offers all the necessary facilities - gas stove, microwave, oven, freezer and both a Nespresso and a coffee machine. Because the house also has central heating, this is also a wonderful, warm place to stay in autumn and winter. Remove the fondue pan from the cupboard and the party can begin.

We are Bas and Barbara and live in Amsterdam with our two daughters. We bought El Pigot from my uncle in 2023. My grandfather had the house built in the 1960s and I have been coming here since I was born. I also proposed to Barbara here, so the house has a special meaning to us.

Explanation of prices

Included is the consumption of gas/water/electricity and maintenance of the garden and swimming pool (1 x per week). An electricity and water surcharge applies for above average consumption.

Final cleaning fee: € 170 flat rate for each rental.

The beds are made upon arrival and 2 towels and 1 bath towel are provided to each guest. Kitchen linen is also available upon arrival. The costs for the linen package are € 9.95 pp.

On the day of arrival, you can access the accommodation from 4 p.m. On the day of departure, you must leave the villa no later than 10:00 am.

When booking, we ask for an advance of 30% of the total rent within 7 days, including a deposit of € 300, via a bank transfer.

The prices as stated are our fixed prices. The prices do not depend on the number of people occupying the holiday home.

If you cancel the agreement in the period up to 6 weeks before the start date of the rental period, 30% of the rental price remains due; in case of cancellation up to 4 weeks 40% and from 2 weeks up to the start date of the rental period 50%. If you only announce on the starting date or during the rental period that you will not use the holiday home (anymore), the full rental price will remain due.

Groups of young people (average age below 21 years) are not allowed.
