ALTEA; A WALK THROUGH AN AUTHENTIC BLUE AND WHITE FISHERMEN AND ARTISTS VILLAGE Between the sea and the mountains of the coast of Alicante, the fishing village of Altea rises in “blue and white”, starting on a hill and reaching the Mediterranean Sea. Along the 6 km long coast there are a large number of magnificent beaches, coves and rocks that stretch from the "Barranco del Mascarat" to the boulevard of "Alfaz del Pi" and "Albir". The Moorish church which sits on top of the hill of Altea has beautiful cobalt blue roofs with white decorations; this church is one of the most important symbols of the Costa Blanca. The authentic artists' village of Altea has a large number of shops, restaurants, bars and unique spots in the beautifully paved streets. In Altea there are a large number of neighborhoods with luxurious villas, holiday homes and apartments. Between the luxurious residential areas there are many orchards with oranges, lemon and olives and the less well-known subtropical fruit "Medlar". In the spring, the landscape around Altea is like a fairy tale; the almond and cherry blossom stands out beautifully against the azure sky.
