Spring and summer are filling up nicely! The last two weeks of March, the last week of June and the first two weeks of July are still free now (end of Feb).
Our Nature Cottage is the house under the Mediterranean sun of Ina. It is a spacious house of 140m2 that is suitable for a couple, with or without smaller children, or two friends, or for a family with older children, After a small renovation there are now a total of three bedrooms, but you can also rent it with 1 or 2 bedrooms.
The house is on a hilltop in our own olive grove, overlooking the Ebro Delta on one side and Tortosa and the Els Ports mountain range on the other. There is a roof terrace, and two other terraces on either side of the house, and of course plenty of space in the garden for hammocks, chairs and a picnic table.
It is located on a very quiet road, above the town of Tortosa. The house is largely self-sufficient: water comes from a communal source and solar panels provide the house with sufficient electricity. Heating - not necessary from March to November - is done with two very powerful wood stoves, 1 of which is connected to the radiators in the rooms. The house is very comfortable inside and out, although you have to be prepared for the silence and the real campo feeling! You will need a rental car.
The house is in the middle of a very interesting region. A 40-minute drive away you will find the wide beaches of the Deltebre, or the small bays of the Costa Daurada. A path runs along the entire coast to walk and discover quiet beaches that are difficult to reach by car. The region is known for its gastronomy; fish, oysters, tuna, rice, fresh fruits and vegetables. There are some good restaurants in the cities, in the Delta and upstream of the Ebro and also in the hinterland of the Terra Alta, an interesting wine region.
In the mountains of Els Ports there are many hiking trails, which lead past waterfalls or into the higher mountains. Tortosa is a nice, largely undiscovered town with some interesting sights such as the castle, the cathedral and the central market. A little further away are Reus and Tarragona, respectively lively and historic cities. The cities of Barcelona and Valencia are respectively 1.5 and 2 hours away by (express) train or car. Wild nature, mountains, sea, rivers, waterfalls or cities: we have it!
