Casa La Chaparra A beautiful house in Riogordo that we like to share with other bon vivants! So that you can spend a wonderful time there. And discover the rugged, quiet, simple, beautiful Andalusia. A good feeling of peace, space, warmth and enjoyment.

Casa La Chaparra is located between the almond and olive trees, just outside the small village of Riogordo.
The house has a phenomenal view over the mountains and valleys. The sun rises behind the mountains so you can have breakfast on the terrace in the morning and enjoy the soft sun and in the evening light it gives a beautiful play of colors.
The skies you see passing by are fantastic and the sun is there at least 300 days a year.

It is peaceful and quiet around the house and from a distance you can hear the shepherd's goats.
A paradise on earth. The house has a large terrace, with a lovely veranda so that you can enjoy the view even with the wind, where we place a swimming pool (set-up) to cool off and the children can play in.

The house is spacious, cozy furnished with a large kitchen and living room. The house has 3 bedrooms sleeping 6 people and 2 bathrooms.
There is everything in the house so that you immediately feel the feeling of being welcome. It is equipped with all comforts and basic groceries.

Casa La Chaparra has an Apartment, Alegría, for 2 people. A fully furnished, cozy one-room apartment, with kitchen and bathroom and private terrace.

La Chaparra is a 30-minute drive from the sea with wonderful beaches.
The house is located 3 quarters of an hour from Malaga airport.
Granada, Cordoba and Seville are an hour, an hour and a half and two hours away respectively.

We are Jac and Nelleke and have been coming to Andalusia for years with great pleasure. The country has stolen a piece of our hearts.
La Chaparra is the first house we rented for a year years ago and through wanderings we ended up there again and we and you can enjoy this lovely house even more.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Bed linen, towels, electricity, WIFI, air conditioning, water are included in the rental price.

To be paid within 5 days to confirm the booking: 30% of the total amount
Remainder and deposit to be paid no later than 8 weeks before the start of the stay.
The deposit of 200 will be refunded one week after departure if the house is left in good condition.
The price does not include final cleaning of 95 euros.

CANCELLATION
If, for other reasons, the tenant cannot, does not want to or will not accept the leased property on the agreed date, he must notify the landlord of this. A telephone notification of this must be confirmed in writing or by email. If the tenant cancels the agreement in the period up to 8 weeks before the start date of the rental period, he will continue to owe 50% of the rent; From 8 weeks until the start date of the rental period, he will continue to owe the full rent. We had a fantastic time, where several guests came by, who shared the enthusiasm with us. The house has a casual interior that makes you feel right at home. You can enjoy beautiful views from the terrace that are never boring. The town of Riogordo is not far away, so you can easily have a bite to eat in the village. Furthermore, there are many hiking opportunities in the area and the beaches are not far away. Malaga is also easy to reach and is more than worth a visit. You understand that we heartily recommend this accommodation. Mohamed y Anne La Chaparra is a very charming house, quiet and with a breathtaking view of the sublime landscape that surrounds it. The house is clean and functional. Our hostess Nelleke is very friendly, concerned about our well-being. She gave us all the information we needed to make our stay as pleasant as possible, including the best addresses and places to discover. We think we will return as our stay was exceptional. Andrés y Sandra We went as a family for a week in July 2021 and enjoyed La Chaparra, highly recommended. We also went last year. A cozy house, full of details of comfort and good taste, with an impressive view, and in the distance the sound of the goats. Half an hour from the beach. The interior is very comfortable and pleasant, and the terrace is very spacious with a small pool. This year we also enjoyed a new glass porch. The master bedroom has air conditioning and although it was July we did not get warm inside at any point. The place is a gem and it is a beautiful and cozy house. From the terrace you have spectacular fairy views of the surrounding mountains, from sunrise to sunset. I have had all kinds of weather of which most days were sunny, between 16 and 19 ° C, sometimes also 23 ° C. There is a serene peace and the owners are very friendly and always available for questions. Problems are always solved. And the sea is a 30-minute drive away. I will come back! The route description is clear and the road to Chaparra easily passable. It is advisable to arrive during daylight. You can get lost quickly. It is dark on the mountain (which is very special and beautiful in the evening, but less convenient when you drive the road for the first time ;-)) You will receive the coordinates and route description.

Riogordo
Riogordo is a cozy, authentic white village with all amenities, surrounded by beautiful nature. There are plenty of 'super mercados', bakery, butcher, fish shop, bank, pharmacy.
In a number of bars you can go for the typical tapas dishes, but also simple meals. Every Wednesday morning there is a small covered market. A gathering of villagers with lots of fun.
The sea is 30 minutes away with wonderful beaches.

Semana Santa (the good week) is celebrated in Spain.
Unique in Riogordo is the Easter Passion Play. The agony of Jesus is depicted in a large open-air theater. It is very impressive. The entire village cooperates and plays along. There are also different processions, with a lot of incense, ringing bells, music and a lot of passion. Very worthwhile to experience.

Surroundings
You can fully walk and cycle from the house and the Montes de Malaga, El Torcal and Sierra Tejeda nature parks are also nearby.
Further possibilities for: Mountaineering, Naturism, Waves, Horse riding, Skiing.
There are several typical Andalusian, white villages nearby. Trips in the neighborhood: El Torcal, Nerja, Frigiliana, Comares ...
In Veléz Málaga is a Buddhist cemtrum and Stupa.
Malaga is definitely worth a visit. You can take the bus to Malaga. A beautiful, varied ride of 1 hour and you arrive without parking problems.
The historic center of Malaga has beautiful sights. There are beautiful squares, theater, special museums (Picasso), music on the street and countless cafés and restaurants. The harbor with lots of viewing pleasure and the beach are great places to go.

And Granada, Cordoba and Seville are respectively an hour, an hour and a half and two hours away.
The house is 45 minutes drive from Malaga airport.

The house has all kinds of information for special trips, restaurant tips, walking and cycling trips.

All villages are beautiful. Some jump out. Comares: village on top of the mountain with sights from the time of the Arab domination. Canillas de Aceituno: cozy village in the mountains with a beautiful road to it. And a walk for a day, el Satillo. (see walks) Cómpeta: village in the mountains, beautifully situated. Touristy and beautiful? El Acebuchal spectacular scenery, fantastic food and the picturesque village itself. Nerja is nice. The Balcon is near a square where you can look around, take a terrace and do some tourist shopping. Cozy coves. At Nerja inland lies Frigiliana. It was the most beautiful village in Spain / Europe in the early 2000s. It is beautiful, but touristy. Pleasant to walk around in.

El Torcal de Antequera

If you like nature, you should definitely take time out to walk in El Torcal.
The El Torcal de Antequera Natural Park in Andalusia is also called the Pancake Mountains of Spain!

On the way to the sea you pass Lake Viñuela.
Highly recommended to get out and take a walk or sit quietly by the water.
You can get to the lake through the campsite.

A fortress village on top of the mountain.
Beautiful views and a pleasure to drive to from Riogordo.

A coastal town with beautiful beaches and a large lively market on Thursday morning.

Balcon de Europe!
And many cozy terraces, shops, beaches and bays, music. Always a lot to experience.

Buddhist center with a Stupa on top of the mountain. A quiet place to be with 100% view.

Rio de Chillar: A beautiful walk through a gorge. An adventure for children too. Starts in Nerja. El Satillo: A small version of the Camino del Rey. Like Camino del Rey, the El Saltillo walk takes you over walkways along sheer walls through a gorge carved by the Almanchares River. And much more..!
