The west coast with many varied beaches is about 1 hour away.
Also very worthwhile and not too far: Coimbra, Tomar, Nazare, Sintra.
When you come back, you can enjoy a beautiful view in both the front garden and the backyard.
It is a wonderful walk with views over the hills to nearby villages.
There are also several nice and cheap restaurants nearby.
