Quinta Levegada

Quinta Levegada is located in central Portugal on the edge of Vila do Mato, a small authentic village with approximately 800 inhabitants. It is a large detached house on half an acre of land surrounded by terraces with grass and olive trees. The house is located on a hill, has a beautiful view of the mountains and a fantastic sunset every evening.

Here you can enjoy peace and nature, but it is also the ideal base for an active holiday with the coast an hour's drive west and the largest nature reserve in Portugal, the Serra Estela, an hour east.

The house has its own well and heat pipes on the roof for heating the water. On cold days the house is heated by the wood stove in the living room which also heats the radiators.

The interior of the house is modern, light and spacious. It has 4 (double) rooms, 2 rooms at the front of the house and 2 rooms at the rear, with a bathroom at the front and back of the house and a separate (3rd) toilet at the back. There is also a large living room with open kitchen and a separate room with washing machine.

The veranda at the front runs across the entire width of the house and keeps the house nice and cool in the summer. In the evening it is a nice place to eat. The sun shines on the back terrace in the morning, a nice spot for breakfast, and in the summer it is nice and cool when the sun moves to the front of the house in the afternoon.


Outside on the grounds there are places everywhere where you can sit with a chair and a book and enjoy the peace and the view. There is no swimming pool, but you can swim in rivers everywhere in the area where there are also landscaped beaches (Praia Fluvial).

Quinta Levegada is a wonderfully comfortable house for 2 to 4 people, but the large rooms and open kitchen make the house also very suitable for family holidays or, for example, walking groups (max 8 people) or for a wine or culinary trip. The large kitchen allows you to cook together and there are several wineries (Dão region) to visit in the area.

Environment:
Vila do Mato is located halfway between the coast and mountains. The Atlantic coast is 100 km to the west with beautiful beaches where you can visit coastal villages and eat delicious fish. 100 km to the east you drive into the largest nature reserve in Portugal, the Serra Estela, where you can take beautiful walks through forests, past waterfalls and through authentic villages. The highest point is at 2000 m. Close by are also the university city of Coimbra (45 min), the inspiration for Harry Potter books and really worth a visit, and Viseu (45 min)

There is much to do in the immediate area. The area is rustic, authentic with lots of nature and small villages. There is little tourism yet so it is nice and quiet. You can walk, swim in the river, go horse riding and canoeing, try regional dishes in the small local restaurants and wine tasting in one of the famous wineries of the region (Dão) or simply enjoy the peace and nature around the house.
