About Casa Portuguesa
Casa Portuguesa is a traditional Portuguese villa with Moorish style elements, recently renovated, detached, with private pool and lots of privacy in a spacious orchard with various fruit trees. The casa can accommodate up to six people, has a large roof terrace and a spacious pool terrace. It is located in the quiet east of the Algarve in a rural area with small-scale orchards, sheep herds and horses. The area borders the special nature reserve Ria Formosa and the mountains of Alentejo. Authentic fishing villages, harbor towns and mountain villages are in the immediate vicinity, including beautiful Tavira and historic Olhão. The Algarve has a pleasant maritime climate due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. Summers are less hot than inland and the outdoor season starts in March and ends in November. In winter, the weather is pleasantly mild and good for beach and nature walks.

Nature and environment
From the roof terrace you have a beautiful view of the rural area. In the summer, shepherds pass by with their flocks of sheep. The Ria Formosa is a 10-minute walk away, a protected nature reserve with mud flats and salt marshes where many migratory birds from Africa forage. Bird lovers can freely use the binoculars that are present in the house. A car-free cycling and walking route has been built in the Ria Formosa to the nearby fishing village of Fuseta or the harbor town of Olhão. Here and in the nearby towns you can find many quiet sandy beaches and boat trips can be made to, for example, Ilha de Fuseta and Ilha de Tavira. Beach towels are available in the villa that can be used freely. Tenants who prefer hilly and forest nature will find themselves in the Barrocal in no time from Moncarapacho, where there are beautiful hiking and driving routes around Sao Bras de Alportel and Loule along traditional mountain villages.
