The open kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances, cookware and crockery. Use has been made of colorful Portuguese ceramics and traditional woodwork in combination with tile and stone. The open kitchen is connected to the dining room.

The master bedroom features a spacious 2 bed, air conditioning and ceiling fan. The room has direct access to the bathroom.

The living / bedroom and the sofa bed made up as two separate single beds.

The terrace and roof terrace are provided with sufficient (reclining) seats to fully enjoy the great weather, bird sounds and a cool breeze from the valley.

In December 2017 the bathroom was renovated. There is now a spacious walk-in shower.

After the bathroom renovation December 2017 there is now also a bidet, besides a walk-in shower, sink and toilet.

On the terrace you can enjoy a magnificent view. Because of the separation wall between the two houses there is always a sun or shade spot, guarantee for relaxing.

From the pool and the terrace around it, you have a great view over the surrounding countryside.

The lounge at the outbuilding consists of two fun 2-seater sofas and a coffee table. It is connected with the open kitchen.

The second double bedroom in the annexe was built in the same authentic Portuguese style and has a direct access to the terrace.

Directly behind the house begin hiking trails into the hills. You can stroll endlessly with magnificent views. If you are high enough, you can even see the sea.

Directly behind the house (in the picture you can see the roof) many hiking trails start and you can enjoy a beautiful environment with cork oaks, eucalyptus trees, carob trees and other plants and flowers. During winter and spring, the river is flowing its way through the valley, in summer it is mostly dry.

The fishing village of Santa Luzia (near Tavira) is known for its (arrow) ink catch and has many good restaurants to enjoy.

My book 'Silence is Silver' takes place in 'our' valley Porto Carvalhoso. For anyone who wants to come or stay in our Portuguese atmosphere before or after the stay! For sale at every (internet) bookstore.

A bit further away, but definitely worth a day trip is the old town Silves with the Moorish castle on top of the hill, from where you have a magnificent view of the surroundings. Also the trip to it (via Sao Bras-Salir-Alte or via Sao Bras-Loulé-Bouliquieme is worthwhile).

Tavira is a lively place with a number of parks, many churches, an old castle and of course many restaurants / cafes with terraces.

If you drive up to Casa na Colina you pass this traditional Portuguese laundry place where in earlier years the Portuguese women took out there water and did their laundry.

Meanwhile, my second novel is also for sale! Again inspired by our house in the Algarve, but this story does not take place in 'our' valley but on the coast. Portugal is also more decor, in this book the story lines are more present and it is a lot more exciting!
