Fun facts about Oppland
- Oppland literally means ‘high land’.
- The cheese slicer was invented in 1925 by a carpenter from Lillehammer.
- The paper clip [albeit in a square shape] was also invented in Norway as early as 1899.
- Jotunheimen National Park is home to Norway’s highest mountain, the Galdhøpiggen (2,469 metres).
