Winter
In Nesfjellet there is a ski school (and ski rental). Here you can get ski lessons in winter and rent skis or other winter equipment. In addition, Nesfjellet has its own ski area including a luxury chairlift. The ski area also has a practice slope where beginners can learn to ski. In addition to skiing, you can also go cross-country skiing (approx. 150 km of trails), ice skating, hiking in the area.
Summer
Nesfjellet is a pearl given the versatility of the many lakes, mountains, forests and unspoiled nature where mass tourism has not yet struck. For a little more entertainment, Oslo is not far away (approx. 160 km) or you can consider a visit to Bergen on the Norwegian west coast. In summer, the area is a hiking and mountain biking paradise. Besides walking and cycling, there is so much more to do. There are several wildlife parks in the area (Bjorneparken and Langedrag) and there is also a very nice swimming lake at Treytetjern with beach and playground for children. In addition, of course, there are many waterfalls and fjords in the vicinity.
Spring and autumn
Fjellstua is ideal for enjoying spring or autumn. In the spring, everything turns green again and the sheep pass by the chalet. The last snow is still on the mountain tops and the permanent snow on Jotunheimen can be seen from the viewpoints in the area.
In autumn, the forests show their mighty beautiful autumn colours. The larch trees turn light brown which gives a nice contrast with the first snow on the mountain tops. Even during the day it is pleasant in the valley before winter sets in.
In all seasons, the advantage is that there is no crowds, but rather enjoy all the peace and quiet. Then it is ideal to forget the hectic pace of daily life in combination with the luxury of the chalet. There are several restaurants in the area, but of course you can always cook in your Norwegian 'hytte'.
